If ever there is a drama that can change my lackluster impression of Yoona, it’s going to be Prime Minister and I or nothing else. So far I am already thisclose to being madly in love with her character and performance based on the trailers alone. So if I end up unimpressed with her still after this drama, she’s and … Continue reading →
There are two sources of strength getting me through this week’s dreaded Mon-Tues drama hump – the first is all those people counting on me to plow through the detritus of Marry Him If You Dare and provide a recap so they don’t have to watch it, and the second is the comfort that Prime Minister and I is just … Continue reading →
There is good and bad news about the upcoming K-drama Prime Minister and I. The good news is that the concept teasers and the first drama preview all look fantastic. Zippy and snappy, there is a lot of energy and the cast is all sparking onscreen. Even better news is the just released first couple still of leads Lee Bum … Continue reading →
The first drama preview is out for Prime Minister and I which is premiering in two weeks after Marry Him If You Dare (Mirae’s Choice) wraps up. The drama already released two teasers featuring leads Lee Bum Soo as the nation’s youngest Prime Minister and Yoona of SNSD as a tabloid reporter. In those teasers, each got ready for a … Continue reading →
I think acting is a combination of talent and hard work. Some have talent and don’t need to put in as much hard work, while others learn by sheer willpower and experience. A lot of young stars (be it idols-turned-actors or just actors) tend to headline projects when they are not yet ready to carry the entire weight. Which is … Continue reading →
There are a lot of unknowns around the upcoming KBS drama Prime Minister and I. Right now it has small shoes to fill when it premieres in a month after the low-rated Marry Him If You Dare wraps up. The initial casting caused general consternation when the forty-something serious actor Lee Bum Soo was paired up with the twenty-something lightweight … Continue reading →
Two upcoming K-dramas started filming recently and I’ve decided to lump them in the same post because my excitement over both is pretty much at the same level. Excited but cautiously optimistic. Fans of stars in either drama needn’t fret I’ll split the love, the SBS drama You From Another Star airs on Wed-Thurs after Heirs, while the KBS drama Prime … Continue reading →
The drama gods must be playing a practical joke on me or else there is a conspiracy to get me to like Yoona. It might still happen, but all I know is that I’m checking out Prime Minister and I come hell or high water. First of all, the drama title has reportedly changed to Prime Minister In Love, but … Continue reading →
If the behemoth that is SM Entertainment produces a drama, it might not be geared towards making money and could function more as a platform to showcase its stable of young talent. That is how I always saw To the Beautiful You, but SM does have an acting arm called SM C&C (culture and content) that reps very established actors in … Continue reading →
Insane drama casting say WHUT? I’m sorry but I can’t even wrap my mind around this upcoming drama concept and definitely not the pairing. Let me get the good out of the way first – Lee Bum Soo is returning to dramaland! Super yay. It would be an exclamation but for the big BUT in this casting – his leading … Continue reading →
Uhm Tae Woong must be in a sageuk mood, because he’s trading one for another just to satisfy that craving. He’s been attached to the SBS remake of the biography of Admiral Yi Soon Shin for what feels like forever, and clearly something was up with that drama because the production was definitely taking forever. Uhm Tae Woong may be … Continue reading →
There are young actors like Joo Won, who I swear is on track to work himself into an early retirement. He’s done three drama’s back-to-back-to-back, all while juggling a reality show, and has already committed to a movie before he’s even done with his current drama. I have no complaints about his hardworking attitude, but conversely there is a young … Continue reading →
When I saw the picture above, the first thing I yelped was “OMG, no way Lee Mi Sook plays the aged older version of Yoona‘s character from the 70s?!?” And then of course, a quick check confirms that, indeed, 70s version of Yoona’s character turns into Lee Mi Sook in 2012. I hope this is one of those casting specifically … Continue reading →
