Of course not every C-drama can be S- or even A-level in budget but some stuff just looks so cosplay bad I cringe seeing it made on any budget. A new xianxia romance C-drama kicked off filming this week with leads Zhan Bin Bin (Vin Zhang) and Sun Zhenni and the press conference and costume fitting stills had me lol-ing and feeling second hand embarrassment for them. The drama is called Qian Duo Tao Hua Yi Shi Kai (A Thousand Peach Blossoms Blooming in One Life) and don’t let the lyrical title fool you the drama looks like the baddies from every single xianxia drama get their own romance in the limelight with the black and ornate costumes thrown on the leads. The shoulders and the headpiece on Sun Zhenni is usually reserved for like the one scene female baddie in a xianxia drama and poor Zhang Bin Bin is trying so hard to be fierce despite knowing how ridiculous he looks.
