Written Preview for Episode 9 and 10 of Lie to Me

Anything, something, is better than nothing, right? SBS released written previews for both episode 9 and 10, so we get a double dose of Lie to Me upcoming angst to whet our appetites. Unless the written previews say: Ki Joon gets on his knees and gets forgiveness, bitchslapping Yoon Joo a few times for good measure, and then Ki Joon and Ah Jung make out for episodes on end, then I’m never going to be completely satisfied. Gah, I can’t believe we’ve got half the drama remaining to watch Ah Jung or Ki Joon suffering.

Written preview for episode 9:

Ki Joon faces a bunch of old shareholders, screaming at them “so when has the Gold Resort become a place you can play away at?” He loses his temper and tosses the report. Everyone bows and leaves his office and Ki Joon lets out a long sigh and picks up his phone. Suddenly Yoon Joo calls, and Ki Joon takes a long look at his phone, before slowly moving to pick it up. He then remembers that he’s forgotten a lunch scheduled with her, and his expression is conflicted. Park Hoon sees Ki Joon like this……..

The phone rings again, and it’s still Yoon Joo. Ki Joon still doesn’t pick up the phone. Suddenly the door opens, and Yoon Joo walks in smiling with her cell phone pressed to her ear. The two of them walk out. Yoon Joo moves to grab Ki Joon’s arm, but Ki Joon pulls his arm away. Yoon Joo, who loves to aegyo (or oppo pout wiggle), grabs Ki Joon’s arm again. At this time, Ki Joon is shocked at his own move to once again pull his arm away. Yoon Joo is surprised to see Ki Joon’s expression, and she turns around and sees So Ran standing in front of them.

Written preview for episode 10:

Ki Joon gets up from the table with the foreigner, walking away without looking at Ah Jung even once. The Ki Joon who is dismissive of Ah Jung has a tense look on his face. Watching Ki Joon walk in, Park Hoon and the secretary stand up. Ki Joon moves to grab the door handle but freezes. Park Hoon believes there is something the matter with Ki Joon.

On the otherhand, Ah Jung leaves, seemingly exhausted. She runs into the hotel manager, who is walking towards her from the other direction. The hotel manager saw Ki Joon grabbing Ah Jung’s hand the day before. Both Ah Jung and the hotel manager are embarassed, and Ah Jung is relieved when the hotel manager pretends that she didn’t see Ah Jung and walks right past her.

  5. thank you! i saw the link to the SBS website earlier and since i can’t read nor understand korean, this is very helpful (and timely 🙂 ). in my opinion, if ki joo is acting that way towards yoon joo, then they really didn’t get back together. YJ is being delusional. I hope KJ will eventually have the chance to explain to AJ in the next 2 episodes.

  7. this maybe confusing but still this make me crave for more and cant wait for Monday and Tuesday to air ep 9 and 10, hope i can concentrate with my work next week as I always think this drama and imagine things that will happen haissttttt. Can we make the time fast forward so that it will be Monday tomorrow hahahahaha , just like the song of balck eyed peas “just can’t get enough”:)

  8. First time to post here, my KJH/YEH addiction gone wild now. to the point that I could not control it anymore.. I’m sensing a time jump as well, one of the sign in Kdrama if we are getting a time jump is the characters cropping their hair. And little KJ/AJ in the making as well yeah hahahhahaha my wish huh…just look at your top pic where these were heading? WIshful thinking heheheheh.. Anyway so after AJ disappearance KJ turned cold and cynical huh? even YJ gets cold shoulders, me liking that much. Thanks Ms. K… always going here to keep eye on you… I mean LTM….

I know Ah Jung, lie, and create a freaking, OMG, mess, but she was clear, they were lying! But then came Ki Joon, almost kissing in the bench, the ice cream kissing, and then the cola kiss, that was hot as hell!! Why he gave her wings, to cut them right after!!

    So after losing Ah Jung, or shall I say after he purposefully or stupidly (that’s a more apt adverb) lose Ah Jung, he’s back to being a grouch, or maybe even worse than that. Har har. Be miserable Ki Joon. As Baek Seung Jo would say: “merong!”. If he didn’t look at Ah Jung “even once”, well, he’s still totally affected by her, isn’t it? Everybody now: “merong!” mwa ha ha! But then it makes Ah Jung miserable too, oh dear, and that’s episode 10 already.

HKJ stewing in his misery will be a sight to watch, great anticipation to see that. Looks like we’ll be proud of our dear AJ, who will be steadfast in her dismissal of HKJ. Everytime I see her face in last part of Episode 8, like waiting outside HKJ’s home or YJ’s home, my heart goes out to her. Way to go, YEH, excellent emoting, we are all with you.

    HKJ has to really do a marathon excercise of super charming things to win back AJ’s trust when he realises his love.

    In ep 8 he kissed AJ but when YJ comes back he goes running after her?

    Ep 10 there is a mention of him grabbing AJ’s hand and then avoiding YJ.

    HANG ON…didn’t we see him doing that with AJ in reverse on Tues?No way…it’s the same thing.Oh man how can I trust a lead like that who is wishy washy.If there was a time jump it meant that he was happily WITH YJ all these while playing kissy kissy?

    I’m a bit confuse with those written previews.
    But these are some possibility that I got from epi 9 :
    1. KJ didn’t resume his love relationship with YJ since his true feeling is for AJ (maybe he still didn’t realize it yet). In other world their relationship is in status quo. (I like)
    2. Or maybe he’s agree to go back with YJ (nooo) but deep in his heart he miss AJ, that’s why KJ pulled his arm away when YJ tried to grab his arm.

    Epi 10 :
    KJ and AJ involved in a fight (maybe KJ’s trying to give explanation on his earlier behavior to AJ but AJ didn’t want to listen) which include grabbing hand between them. That’s why he didn’t want to look at AJ when they meet (because he’s upset)

    My head is spinning. Can’t wait till Monday… 🙁

      KJ goes to where AJ is.
      AJ tries her best to hide from him but eventually they bump into one another.
      AJ ends up telling KJ: “[seeing you] is annoying and I’m ashamed to look at you.. and it hurts too much” and ‘breaks up’ with him.

      I think those related to why KJ has cold attitude toward AJ

    • I love what I think the writer is going with So Ran’s character based on her genuine shock and worry for Ah Jung at the end of episode 8 – giving her the capacity to reflect, grow, redeem herself, and maybe find a genuine happiness not predicated on a false sense of arrogance and superiority – and what it means for her and Ah Jung to let go of their past competitiveness and become genuine friends through their mutual emotional strugges happening at the same critical juncture of their lives.

      And yes, So Ran sticking up for Ah Jung in front of Ki Joon would be epic and totally satisfying to watch.

  48. So KJ grabbed AJ’s hand? Hmm. What’s to be ashamed of, for AJ to hide from the hotel manager who has seen it? This is puzzling, as usual, from this far-from-being-as-good-as-the-Hong-sisters scriptwriter.

    Btw, I find it rather sad that because of the out-of-the-blue hawt ice-cream and cola kisses, this drama suddenly has so many addicted followers, compared to the steady and interesting BL and RoTo dramas.

    • Written previews are always purposely opaque, but I’m reading it as Ah Jung’s just embarassed, period, that what was perhaps a private scene between her and Ki Joon was seen by someone else, somone who works for Ki Joon no less. Same goes for the manager. I feel like anytime anyone spies on Ki Joon and Ah Jung, one ought to avert our eyes because it’s almost too personal.

      I’ve been on the BL-train since episode 1, and the drama continues to get better. RT is quirky, something that perhaps work best for me to watch it all when its completed. My interest in LTM went from purely loving Ji Hwan and Eun Hye (two of my fave actors) to actually loving the characters and their unfurling love story. And it’s not based on the hot kissing.

      When I find myself thinking back or rewatching scenes, it’s actually the little moments I smile about. I think the kissing was counting your chickens before it has hatched, in terms of the writer jumping the gun, but it did send the relationship into overdrive.

      Perhaps the OTP needed it, indicating how much Ah Jung changes Ki Joon’s tightly-controlled behavior, and how sometimes it’s the inexplicable attraction that leads to the falling in love. My LTM love is not because of some random kissing (and yes, it was random). It’s because I’m feeling their relationship develop before me. 😀

    • I think AJ does not want others to see that she is still connected with KJ after all that has happened. She doesn’t want them to think that the contract they agreed to was more than just plain acting.

      With regards to what you have mentioned about the kiss which made this drama suddenly getting hordes of followers, I guess it’s only natural for it to happen especially if the drama has two leads oozing with chemistry (and know how to kiss). This is the reason why I gave this show a try. I think last week’s episodes picked up and became interesting which made people craving for more and gaining new fans.

      We can’t deny the fact that there are other currently airing dramas that are better written but I think it’s just a matter of preference. (^^,)

    • lit To Me didn’t just became out of the blue popular because of the kiss. lie To Me has been popular from the get go, eversince the casting of Yoon Eun Hye and kang Ji Hwan was announced. The only reason why people are talking about it more now is because the story finally became fast paced compared to the draggy storyline in previous episodes.

      for your information the ice cream kiss and the cola kiss was totally overshadowed by the getting dumped scene and Yoon Eun hye’s excellent crying performance in episode 8 as seen in korean news and different portals.

      here’s a brief list of LTM’s online popularity in a nutshell from Episode 1-8:

      – youku: no. 1 k-drama, no. 6 all up (k/c/j)
      – tudou: no. 1 drama (ep 1-8 = 25+ million views so far)
      – mysoju: no. 1
      – viki: no. 1
      – dramacrazy: currently 8th out of 1571 in total
      – soompi: 450,000+ views – the most out of all the currently airing dramas (even before the kiss scenes it was already leading)

Gah if only we could pull the days off,, hahahaha monday and tuesday would be in a snap of a hand 🙂 My insides were really kicking me every night just to review sites that I could learn things about LTM. Although I felt confused for some written preview, I’m still thankful for it rather not having anything to read at all.hihihi 🙂

    And I would like to share what I have found from ‘itsHuyen’ at Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wms8TJH78lM). It states that AJ and So Ran will be going to Canada. As KJ knew about this he went to the airport however he was late and never got the chance to meet AJ. So time jump would might really occur for the next episodes,,

    • the only think that bugs my mind in this preview, how is that So Ran and that sunbae of AJ is also in a fake marriage???? I dont think so but id it is like that.. well when i think about the fight scenes in the ep8, it could be possible that she just wanted to look like a perfect couple just to show off AJ, so So Ran tells him why did you make it like AJ would find about it? but this can also happen even if they are really married. not?

I would love the time jump plot:D it would give time to KJ to understand who actually he loves and cool his head about YJ!! i dont know but most of the people watching this drama dont have any specific hate towards YJ, i think it’s just me that who hates her, me and my hate towards all the EXs! btw i look and look to her in these last two episodes and she is not lovely at all! oh another thing, most probably SH loves YJ more than he loved her before, cuz i think he lets her go to his hyung but he just does this for the sake of his love to her, he is mature about love more than he seems!

  65. when AJ asked why KJ became president of the hotel, he said that it was something he ought to do. He promised to always take care of his brother and he is also “filial” to his aunt. As for the ex, I would assume they knew each other for a long time and like….. taking up his position in the business, YJ was also an “ought to” thing to do in KJ’s life (until drunken SH spilled his guts)?

    KJ has this scrupulous sense of responsibilities and now AJ sort of crashes into his orderly life. I mean, his unusual attire (not in suit with flower pin) to work from DAY 1 he met AJ shocked his employees and I think that was what KJ did not see coming in all his fully controlled life, especially after his broken engagement.

    There is no doubt that KJ is going to suffer (thanks to him, POOR AJ too).
    Let’s see how is KJ going to work out his equation of life and the answer to the right side of the equation mark better be HAPPY ENDDING WITH AJ soon enough or else……

    Yeah. BETTER BE cuz I downloaded other top dramas, put them in folders to watch when they are complete but I am following LTM up to date…..so up to date that due to the time difference, I wake up at 2am to read “live” by softy. Then stalk all day here for recaps and postings at work (and pretending to be working hard at the same time).

    You gals are just wonderful!! putting so much time and hard work into translating and all of us here really appreciate it.
    The postings here are hilarious and I enjoy reading this site very much.

    I don’t think GAJ has any clothes left at HKJ house…..but that day, after she wet her cloth becoz of the Cola……how come she appeared with clean and dry cloth on the next screen, ready to go to work?

    Besides that, I think I read somewhere on the written preview, that HKJ was sick and in the hospital? After which, GAJ went there to visit him? I haven’t seen that screen yet….which episode is it?

    • after that cola hot scene, aj left kj’s house wearing her coat and the white inner blouse. she was holding her long sleeve blouse but she’s still wearing the same skirt. let’s just assume that she spin dry her wet clothes. 😀 but she did not report for work wearing the same clothes. i notice that every time aj spend the night outside her home, she don’t wear the same clothes the following day. that led me to speculate that she go home first to wash and change before going to work which is possible because i do that too. LOL otherwise, it would be obvious that you didn’t go home.

      i was wondering too what happened to that hospital scene.

      • I am wondering about the hospital scene also. If I am not mistaken, it says that Ah-jung visited Ki-joon in the hospital and then she sees Yoon-ju coming out of the room- she double checked if it is the right room and alas, it is indeed Ki-joon’s room. But I can’t recall where I have read it though.

        Maybe they changed the script? The supposed-to-be-hospital-scene is changed to Ah-jung-taking-care-of-Ki-joon-all-night-long!!!!

      • that’s exactly what i read too. probably we read in one of the comments here. since the previews always come out in korean first, maybe it’s just a wrong translation or as what you’ve said, they changed the script.

      • yeah, i think it was changed, bec. from this script it seems like it will be the first time that YJ and AJ will meet, but ep 8 already happened and KJ wasn’t put in the hospital…and it will be impossible that AJ still checked the nameplate in the hospital door when she saw YJ. hmmmm.

I actually like that the script writer is torturing me with HJ having side love affair with Yoon Joo because it makes me excited to watch the next episode and I also like how HJ is still in denial of his feelings for AJ because it makes the story more interesting and we can see the progress both characters (AJ and HJ) will take on as they later see each other as the OTP 😀
    Sorry if I don’t agree with other people saying that they should complain to the script writer because of the torture the characters are experiencing…

  76. Read another set of comments. Who knew how many people loved LIE TO ME??? LTM actually started off slow and after all the sexy smooching kissing scenes, I can’t help, but get more addicted than I already am. Through this shows ups and downs regarding love triangles and especially the script writing, I’ll always stick to LTM no matter the circumstances and until this drama coherently ends. AS from the beginning, I am a fan for our lead characters, YEH and KJH. They have so much chemistry onset, they were able to portray their characters into life and have some meaning.

  78. I’m just new here and I just started to appreciate K Dramas. Admittedly I am in a quandary as I could not understand how a drama this popular has a very low rating in Korea. Does it mean very few poeple are watching the actual TV show and just watching postings in the net? Is the rating based only on TV watch and excludes net watch? If this is so and if the local fans really want to promote LTM why not watch the actual TV show as a show of support which will actually count in the ratings instead of waiting for the Net postings? Or are we all international fans who can’t get by without subs or no access to local TV? Sorry too many Q’s but I really want to undrstand. Thanks……

    • I don’t think they include net postings for this, bec. the Neilsen etc only (I think) measures air time ratings in korea-seoul. if only then include net posting and international viewership, tsk tsk… and i think there are other dramas that are viewed in korea than this one.. 🙁

    • Yes, the rating is based during it’s tv airtime hence it only means that koreans prefer other drama being shown simultaneously. Ripley and Baby Faced Beauty with the same time slot with LTM are leading the game. Ironically, though it’s not popular to korean audience, LTM is an online big hit thus it means it successfully attracted the international fans. Why not, YEH is the lead actress. The same fate happened also to Playful Kiss which got a low rating thus the drama was shortened. But due to international fans’ clamor, PK got extended through You Tube version.

  82. Hello, thank you so much for the constant updates on Lie to Me! Like you, I can’t seem to get enough of it and score the net for any bit of news and here’s a little tidbit that I stumbled upon that might explain/confirm the time jump.

    Someone pointed out on YouTube that on the first episode, the date was indicated as being in 2009 and true enough, when I watched the episode again, in the scene where we first meet Ah Jung, during the speech of the official, he mentioned that it was September 2009 which means that everything we’ve watched so far happened in 2009 so I guess we’re jumping to the present in the second half of LTM. Thought you should know … ;D

  85. I just started watching ep1 to get me through monday and the first episode says September 2009, so with all the spoilers pointing towards a time leap, i am willing to take few months short of two years , to bring us to present 2011.
