Yoon Shi Yoon Boards the Train as Kim Jae Wook Declines as Male Lead for Sci-fi Drama

Parallel universes got a teaser in the MBC drama W: Two Worlds a few years ago but will get a high profile presence this year. First there will be the big budget Kim Eun Sook drama The King: Eternal Sovereign with Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun, and less mainstream and edgier will be the OCN sci-fi drama Train. Originally slated to star Kim Jae Wook, he must’ve declined because now Yoon Shi Yoon is in talks as the male lead, playing two roles as he investigates the death of his beloved at the hands of a serial killer and goes to another universe where she is still alive to protect her. Sounds good to me, the whole second chances theme is also big this year with the upcoming time traveling 365: A Year of Defying Fate giving the leads a chance to go back exactly one year to change their destinies.

  1. Absolutely love YSY, for sure watching. He’s underrated as an actor but still I think he’s one of the most versatile actors I’ve come across.

    • Same here. Love him to bits and I agree with that poster above, he’s criminally underrated. As stated above, the female lead has been cast and it’s Kyung Soo Jin (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo- she was playing Nam Joo Hyuk’s ex, the rythmic gymnast)

  2. He was excellent in Nokdu Flower, excellent. Kyung Soo Jin is his leading lady…looking forward to this…both are great actors. I personally do not like Kim Jae Wook’s acting, personally. His emotional scenes always feel flat.
