The notalgia and serendipity feels are hitting the big time with the wedding announcement of Song Hye Kyo to Song Joong Ki, for K-drama viewers long before the Hallyu wave there is a sense of marrying off the last daughter. I’m talking about Song Hye Kyo’s first hit drama with the sitcom Soonpoong Clinic back in 1998 which is where she got her legit first start, the series ran for nearly two years and Song Hye Kyo played the youngest maknae out of four daughters to a OB/GYN father. Korean fans noticed that in 2017 the two most famous of the Soonpoong Oh family daughters got/will get married – Kim So Yeon who played the third daughter tied the knot earlier this summer and now her onscreen little sister played by Song Hye Kyo is walking down the aisle in October. Even more coincidental is both actresses finding love with their most recent drama costar onscreen love interest, Kim So Yeon with Happy Home leading man and now husband Lee Sang Woo and of course Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki romanced each other for Descendants of the Sun.
