First Stills and Poster Shoots for Advertising Genius Lee Tae Baek
In the blink of an eye I got interested in upcoming K-drama Advertising Genius Lee Tae Baek, and its all thanks to the last minute addition of Jo Hyun Jae to the cast. He’s been filming C-dramas this past year (period drama Rouge Overlord with Yang Zi and modern drama Youth Storm with Selina Jen’s younger sister Kristen Jen) so I am beyond ecstatic that he’s back doing a K-drama. And with his Only You leading lady Han Chae Young to boot! Yes yes, I know he plays the antagonist and Han Chae Young is the second female lead (which, by the way, is sooooo weird to me that both of them are playing second fiddle to two youngsters), but I actually love that so much because they can have their own romantic love line. It’s such a win win situation for me – I get to see Eun Chae and Yi Joon (their character names in OY) re-create their explosive chemistry and leads Jin Goo and Park Ha Sun can have their happy perky romance off to the side. Or in the middle, I don’t care, I only have eyes for my OY OTP. Happy starry eyes for them. *___* The writer and PD for this drama have been secondaries for other dramas and this will be the first time each headlines a drama. Check out the first stills of the two leads, the main cast at the poster shooting, and a rundown of the great secondary actors populating this drama’s advertising world. While the storyline of country boy arrives in Seoul and uses his natural talent and hard work to succeed as a “genius” in the ad industry sounds like a snoozefest, since I’m checking this out to gorge on Jo Hyun Jae and Han Chae Young, I could care less what the office shenanigans will be as long as my secondary leads get plenty of screen time with each other. The drama premieres on February 4th on KBS following School 2013.
Oh, Jo Hyun Jae. The things that you make me do. Classes start next week. I have a grant proposal due next week. And what did I do this week? Marathoned Only You because of the first pictures from news of this new dram you are in (as only a second lead!!!). I did not even mind your hair in that drama or the frequency of your pastel sweaters. I hadn’t realized how much I missed you! Sigh. I suppose second lead time is good because since I don’t have time to really watch this drama, I could just fast forward through to watch him. That’s a good plan, right?
I see I am not the only one who had an OY marathon. OMG the big hair and the pastel sweaters and those colorful shirts really burned my eyes, but JHJ is still all kinds of adorable there. But I bow to Jo Hyun Jae’s charms – only he can wear those atrocious clothes and still manage to make women swoon!
At least in this drama he and Cha Young are looking loads better than their OY characters.

I marathoned both Only You and Love Letter this week, and still cannot cure the longing.. *sigh*

Koala, many thanks for the write-up about this upcoming drama, one which I am looking forward to because I like all four leads. I have only seen a little of Jin Goo’s acting – excerpts from the movie “26 Years” and I have been very impressed. He may not be as goodlooking as JHJ but he’s got charisma (not saying JHJ hasn’t got charisma :)). 3:15 – 3:30 of this video (which I love because it’s one featuring my bias, Bae Soo Bin) – Jin Goo is adorable here.
