Look who’s back, baby! 2014 is off to a banging start with the New Year’s day breaking news about top idols Lee Seung Gi and Yoona of SNSD dating, and now with the January 2nd release of Rain‘s sixth full length studio album Rain Effect which is also his first album in four years (two of those years spent in the army). Two official MVs have dropped for the lead singles “30 Sexy” (which sounds like dirty sexy in the song chorus) and “LA Song”, the first song going for sleep K-pop dance and the second one more bandana hip-hop. I’m glad Rain waited a bit before launching his comeback since he was mostly surrounded by scandal all of last year. His relationship with Kim Tae Hee didn’t garner the same positive netizen reaction the way Yoona and Lee Seung Gi did. I don’t know why any celeb relationship gets negative feedback anyways since they are adults and date anyone they want. But the Korean domestic reaction felt Kim Tae Hee with her brainy good girl image was too good for the Rain, and then his military entertainment division scandal with a bunch of other male entertainer enlistees added to the feeling that he was shirking his public service duties which is a big no-no in Korea. Long story short, he was released from the army in the Summer and spent the last part of the year doing select events and overseas appearances while prepping for this album. Only time will tell how his musical comeback will be received but I like his first two singles and he’s definitely still on top of his game. I’m personally more interesting in his acting comeback which he’s not expressed any firm information on when that might happen. In the interview circuit for this album, Rain was asked about his girlfriend Kim Tae Hee and he actually answered some questions. He confirmed they are still dating and the relationship is solid but they don’t see each other much due to their busy schedules but they are consistently in touch through calls. He credits her for loyalty and sticking with him through his rough times and always encouraging him and offering constructive advice. When asked what she thinks about his comeback album, Rain revealed he doesn’t mix work and personal life so he didn’t let her listen to the tracks in advance or ask her opinion. When the teasers came out I tweeted Cube that the bandana was not a good look…it was even worse in LA Song which I did not. like the song or MV for at all.

I can NEVER understand why Korean is too protective towards Kim Tae Hee. The among of hates are overwhelmed. Her brainy, goddess, image make people think she needs someone that is perfect like her. I bet if the man isn’t Rain and other celebrity except Won Bin and Kang Dong Won, they will still feel KTH could do better.
I just saw Rain live 2 days ago at a concert in singapore. (Was there to see nine muses who were the opening act.) Damn he’s an excellent performer. Im not a fan of his and only recognised 4 songs but he was just so impressive. Sang entirely live with reliably good dancing and so much charisma. The crowd went nuts! I like him now.
Really happy for Rain’s comeback and i so far like some of the songs on the album, not feeling the promotional ones though.
Off topic, but SMent just confirmed that SNSD’s Sooyoung and Jung Kyung Ho are dating, Either he and his “non-celebrity” girlfriend broke up or the non-celebrity gf was a lie and was actually Sooyoung all along. Not surprising since dating rumors have surrounded the two for over a year now.
I remember reading about Jung Kyung Ho – Soo Young more than 2 years ago so I wasn’t surprised when this was confirmed. Guess agencies will always choose to lie until their hands are forced.
Apparently they have been dating since September 2012, so both companies are trying to explain away the lying by saying they didn’t know the official start of the two’s relationship but knew that the two were close.
That’s weird, I thought it was confirmed that they’d been dating a year? His agency already apologized for lying about the matter so there’s no point in trying to save face by making it seem like the relationship started later than it actually did.
Pretty sure they admitted they lied about it. They are getting tons of shit for things now. Poor them.

I found both of them and his album underwhelming but I kinda like the 30sexy song although that falsetto is … SMH. I like that he used black dancers for his la song video but I’m side-eyeing for thinking its okay to kiss the dancer and have her bobs and ads like drastically go bog like that. He also needs a new stylist.
Yea, the blow-up silhouette part was mega problematic and made me very uncomfortable. 🙁
I’m back and forth on Rain, tbh. I generally like most of his acting roles but I only like a handful of his songs. I mostly just think he’s attractive and a great dancer.

I have never watch any of his drama beside “Full House” and the music that he have sing for the series. Other than that I have never seen any music video. Oh and I for forgot … I did watch 2 of his amercan movie, ninja assassin and Speed racer
