While bromance has always been popular in movies and dramas, the doubling up of strong female leads and connections remains the outlier. Currently airing MBC drama Night Light features strong female personalities in Lee Yo Won and UEE but the drama has been low rated since its start and it’s hard to see if audiences embrace that set up. Next year in 2017 will see the arrival of Woman of Dignity starring Kim Hee Sun and KIm Sun Ah, pairing up two of the most popular K-drama actresses of early Hallyu. Kim Hee Sun came first and Kim Sun Ah anchored the second wave, marking them as veteran actresses now but nevertheless beautiful and talented. If Choi Ji Woo can reinvent herself with aegyo and girlish charm then hopefully her colleagues can surely show the world what women of dignity and drive can accomplish.
