The OTP Get Closer Through Fake Dating in Episode 4 of A Business Proposal as Ratings Rise Again to 8.7%
SBS Mon-Tues drama A Business Proposal remains my candy corn of choice, so much sugar but oh so fun to ingest. Episode 4 continued the ratings rise albeit a smaller amount up to 8.7% which makes me excited and hopeful this rom-com will be one of the rare to break 10%. But then I realized that it’s only a 12-episode drama, like what the what? I guess there isn’t enough material to stretch out into the usual 16-episode length so while I am sad it’s already 1/3 through airing at least it’s not going to head into padded dull pointlessness. Right now I need to see the second OTP move faster while the primary OTP is moving just right. I love all the fake romance tropes including the cloth shopping outing, everything just comes across so pleasant and funny to watch. I continue to highly recommend this and hope it stays this charming.

What about Military Prosecutor Doberman? It’s also getting 8.0% which is higher enough in ep 4 to become one of the highest rated cable drama in 2022.U seem purposely avoid to speak about it cauz u know it will overshadow ur candy drama
Just my personal opinion… this is her site, I think she can post about whatever she wants. I don’t think we can expect her to cover everything under the sun. But I do agree with you that Military Prosecutor Doberman has been a pleasant surprise of a drama and I like it as well!
Dun you think its so DAMN RUDE of you to keep badgering her about it? Just go to dramabeans then. Why linger here and keep harping over and over on something she probably has not seen or find enough interest to talk about it yet? Better still… start your own reddit thread or site and find like minded people to talk about it with you. This is an APB thread. Perhaps you should just allow people following this show their own haven to discuss it. So obnoxious and demanding!!!!
@lee
@Lee. TWO WORDS. F**K OFF.
Please find another blogger who happens to write about the drama. I’ve just from another post and I read this again.
Have you been following her blog? If you have you would know what shows she likes.
This is a blog site..she writes whatever interests her and whatever she watches. It’s not a news site to cover everything. Why so rude?
I am enjoying this drama. From the leads to side characters, they are all entertaining. Lol, grandpa Lee Dok-hwa is so funny and lovable. His fascination with the Geum Hui drama is hilarious.
my favorite line from grandpa was” chaebol are people too” hahaha
Lol. What a disgusting person. Get out if are toxic to insult somebody like that just because he or she wrote about another drama. There are a lot of stupid kdrama fans nowadays
I love the drama, it’s so funny.
it’s entertaining and definitely the humour is kindly daring…. I really do expecting this drama will be less funny in the second half whrn the angst kick in.
Dun think there will be much angst. The webtoon is pretty straight-laced. Even conflicts resolve in record time. I hope they spend more time giving us the loving and less time on fighting. And most of all – hope its kept always light hearted and funny. This is the biggest defining point of the drama…
The second couple will get faster with him helping her with the stalker, I guess.
I’m glad they keep the drama shorter than the usual. The manhwa is pretty simple. So it’s better not to stretch it too much
I am just waiting for more scenes for the second hot couple!
Seol In Ah such a girl crush!
I can’t imagine the last time a mostly rom com kdrama legitimately had enough material to stretch for 16 episodes. Most rom-com dramas should be 12 episodes or left, I’m glad for the length and that the industry is finally catching on!!
*left = less
Yes, 100% agree!
The drama is hella funny and light, a very easy watch
Kim Se Jeong is nailing her role as Hari.
But to be honest the 2nd lead couple has much more chemistry
Im on the opposite camp. Kim Min Gyu is so darn handsome (park bo gum lookalike) but kinda rigid too. Makes Seol In Ah look like shes working wayyy too hard to drum up the chemistry btw them. AHS is loosening up and both the leads are finding momentum in playing off each other. I find myself fast forwarding the second leads scenes on ep 4 because the stalker episode is boring and the way SH keeps being so standoffish to YS is starting to get repetitive.
I’m so enjoying this drama and it’s definitely because of Kim Se Jung. She’s very natural and expressive and I’m starting to adore her.
Ahn Hyo Seob is passable and handsome…but he doesn’t have that male lead charisma to me. The same goes for Kim Min Gyu. The girls are definitely killing it though!
Ah add me to the club. I’m thoroughly enjoying this rom-com. So damn happy this genre got resurrected this year. Bliss. I’ve always known ksj has it in her to do comedies since school 2017. I also love sia. Not impressed yet with the mls but they’re improving. I’m still getting ptsd from abyss to love ahs atm. I reckon park hyung sik would kill this role of cold chaebol turned mush puppy in love. That boy has the comedic chops.
OMG I would love to see Park Hyung Sik in this role. I love him. His last few dramas have been more serious, and I like his over confident but funny CEO role in Strong Woman Dong Bong Soon so much. I feel like Park Seo Joon would also slay this role since he was so endearing in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim despite his character’s big ego.
Same, I’m enjoying the drama thanks to the writing, direction and (very importantly) Kim Se Jung. She is to this drama what Kim Soo Hyun was to Dream High.
As of ep 4 the ML looks a little less stiff and they have some chemistry so I’m enjoying the drama, but I can’t help thinking of how amazing it could have been with a ML who could actually act. Park Seo Joon and Park Hyung Shik have both been glorious at chaebol roles but imagine say, Park Bogum if he wasn’t in the army? Or Lee Do Hyun?
I have seen bo gummie’s work but I reckon he hasn’t got that comedic touch down pat yet. Him playing evil yes. I love to be proven wrong though. Still lots of future growth coming from gummie. However the other park boys will hit it out of the park no less. ldh no comment as I haven’t seen any of his work yet.
@drama_addict I think Bogum could pull off the comic chaebol role, from what I see whenever he has comedic elements in his work he’s handled them well (most notably Reply 1988). Sometimes the ‘serious’ actors are a surprise gem in comic mode, like So Ji Sub doing Master’s Sun after a decade of melo and action projects!
I have to say this drama reminds me of old school rom-coms like Princess Hours, My Girl, Marriage Not Dating and Shopaholic Louie. It just warms the very cockle of my heart. Tbh, I love the 12 episodes format to weed out any unnecessary fillers. It has all the rom-com tropes being made fun of except the truck of doom and amnesia tropes. Have to agree the girls and their friendship are sparkling gems.
@Aquarius – agreed, ABP is very much like those tropey old-school dramas and I love that about it. It brings the 2020s feel by being self-aware about the tropes though, it really has the best of both worlds so far.
Also thank goodness for the 12 episode length, it means less time to drag and that’s good!
Feel like both girls, Kim Sejong and Seol In Ah are hard carrying the drama plus grandpa Lee Deok Hwa. Loving the sisterhood scenes, such a riot hahaha.
I love this drama, too! Can’t wait for next weeks eps!!
Surprisingly I like this drama too – Although the formula used here were the same with other rom-com but its refreshing to see new outlook on it. I always love Kim Se jeong in “Uncanny Counter” thats the best action flick for a K drama that has has ahjumma & ahjushhi. So sad its only 12 ep but I like the pace and no hanky panky just straight to the truth revealing moment.
