Watching the totally unexpected and frankly quite extraordinary ratings of ENA cable drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo (Weird Lawyer Woo Young Woo) will be a lot of fun in the coming weeks. And I definitely will check this out sooner rather than later so I can understand and partake of the hype. This Wednesday aired episode 3 and the ratings are unbelievable 4.032%. It’s higher ratings than competitors Eve on tvN, Insider on jTBC, and Jinxed at First on KBS, and an even bigger feat considering it’s airing on ENA which until now was a super niche and small cable network that I’ve never even heard of. Talk about ENA hitting a homerun on the first at bat in the first inning. The drama is also doing well on Netflix with it hitting #1 in Netflix Korea earlier in the week.

PEB is so so charming in this gem of a show. Everyone is well casted and the cases are all pretty interesting. I like that its not draggy and every case concludes in just one episode. Everything about the show feels precious and I am savoring it with glee
I went into the drama with no expectations and boy was I surprised. It such a cute show and Park Eun Bin is so great! The chemistry between all the actors have been top notch! I hope it keeps up the momentum!
same here. I started watching Ep.1 out of boredom but now I’m hooked and can’t help but pray for Wednesday to come faster every week 😆
It’s really a nice drama. PEB got the script in the same time than The King’s Affection but it was a great opportunity to act a King as an actress and she wasn’t sure about acting someone with autism. The production waited for her. They were right! She’s really cute in this role and very credible.
apart from her, I think they also waited for Kang Taeoh because he was only confirmed earlier this year although he has received the offer since last year.
This drama is so awesome. I literally pused aside all other wednesday dramas just to watch Attorney Woo first. i just love this show so much and how PEB embodies Woo Young Woo. I like the awareness the show brings about autism and i am learning alot through this show.

The only wed/thurs drama that i watch . PEB is just too cute and doing a good job . She is in the field since years now and when she is cast , i watch it . She is a versatile actress with more different roles than the biggest names over their long career . I love the fact that the new generation has more opportunities than the cinderella’s role or the girl with an ill fated love .
I thing that some are going to say that i may be crazy but when i watch this drama i see a kind of poetry . It’s a warm feeling . There is a french
drama ” Astrid and Raphaelle” which also has an autistic heroine who was raised by a single father , she also wears the same headphones as Woo , but she lives alone ( his father died) and works for the center of criminal archives . She is a genius , she works with a woman inspector in chief who at first was intrigued by her . She becomes fond of her and try her best to help her to live in society . As Woo she has a passion too .
I absolutely adore this drama and PEB so far. Watched without any expectations and it turns out so good for us. She has nailed the role almost perfectly. Autism is really difficult to portray but she did a really great job here.
My sister-in-law has Asperger’s so Young Woo’s struggles and autism hit very close to home. Mr drama addict is so impressed with PEB’s acting that this has become his fav kdrama atm. If the writing and acting continue to shine, the drama will soar to greater heights. We’ve never been so entertained by a law drama since Boston Legal which also has an autistic character called Jerry played by the brilliant Christian Clemenson.
I’m also hooked. This is a feel-good drama, totally worth watching. PEB’s acting is superb and her character is too adorable, you just want to cuddle her every time she’s on screen. No wonder everyone in the show is so taken with her and she even has suitors already, hehe!!
ENA used to be Skylife and was just relaunched last April, hence the lack of recognition. Extraordinary Attorney Woo was just ENA’s second miniseries, after There is No Goo Pil-soo, which drew a peak rating of 0.95% and averaged 0.6%. (When it was still known as Skylife, it aired Crime Puzzle, which had 0.3% ratings on Mondays and Tuesdays 10:30 p.m.) Not even JTBC or TVN can brag about getting a hit and defeating public broadcasters on their second outing.
EAW just broke another network record. Ep 4 – 5.2% nationwide and 5.7% in Seoul.
This drama is just mowing down the competition. Well done!
This little gem is second surprise hit of 2022 after Business Proposal. Minimal to no buzz/hype before airing. Then boom it shot up 4% after four episodes. Very impressive indeed.
It’s interesting that Netflix chose to pick up both of these lowkey dramas over some bigger name dramas. Either they’re really lucky or they’re good at vetting projects.
Most likely Netflix execs would have watched a few episodes earlier on before fully committing. Autism fits in with the progressive liberal causes that Hollywood promotes.
Also anything to do with zombies/ghosts/ monsters/occult/witchcraft/shamanism/luciferian themes are a definite shoo in for Netflix bosses. August is the seventh month in lunar calendar. Hungry ghost festivals would be in full swing in Asian countries with Chinese influence thus CM got picked up too fort hat reason.

PEB brings sincerity to every role she acted, hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Apart from her, the other casts acting are good. The whale is lovely too. Best drama for me, acting, script, directing.
Still watching jinxed for the witch part, glad that seohyun acting is getting better n better with each drama she acted.
LYY is a good actress but underrated, she acted well but her char in the dramz kind of wasted for most part, KHN n the casts acting are good, but the script is kind of tiring. Will only read weecap.
If Yoo Sun was given the FL role, with her acting skill, she will nail it n there won’t be any awkward acting n vocalisation n her interpretation will be much different.
I love this drama! I just randomly came across it on Netflix. Ep 3 is a highlight for me so far — the subject of autism was handled with a delicate hand. I love how the dad described what it was like to deal with. The actress is also such a gem.
This drama is good. PEB picks her roles so well. Talk about a wide range of characters in her acting resume. She’ll have a long and successful career.

Am I the only one who looking forward to this before airing? I was looking forward to it for Park Eun Bin. the trailer look cute too. there is a noise about this drama might not a well received in Korea due to sensitive subject they arise. so I get serious. and when I see Yo In shik Pd and the writers from innocent witness team up 2 weeks before airing I was even more excited.
Park Eun-bin got 0 vote from Baeksang judges recently but she is back stronger than ever in just short time. If the rating keeps going up, her nomination for next year’s is already secured. I admire her dedication and ability to immerse in this role shortly after she finished her last drama ,which was also a challenging character.
Both her and Lee Se young deserved respect for showing their dedication and passions towards their work as actresses, instead of enjoying the fame for one hit for a long time,they continued to work.
In terms of acting performances, the competition for female nomination in the latest baeksang award is fierce,so I was surprised kim tae ri got so much vote. talk about Buzz and star power take apart for jury consideration. though whoever the winner in that moment deserved it.
I’m glad attorney woo is becoming a hit again after her break out in the king affection. so Park Eun Bin will once again in the spotlight.

It would be interesting to see whether Ji Sung can top this drama when Adamas air Jul 27 taking over Eve. Attorney Woo will be halfway thru then.
Adamas is a reasonably high profile tvn drama but not chosen to occupy Sat-Sun slot which will be taken by Little Women when AOS ends.
The top 5 spots in good data most buzzworthy actors list are currently dominated by actresses PEB, SYJ, SHJ, JSM and YS. Even So Ji Sub and Kang Ha Neul being Baeksang winners fail to make the top ten.
