Japanese Legend Sonny Chiba’s Son Mackenyu Arata Headlines the Upcoming 2023 Live Action Adaptation of Classic Shonen Manga Saint Seiya — 7 Comments

  1. Sooo there are Caucasians in Saint Seiya? Or because it’s a comic that they just don’t care about the ethnicity? I’m someone who don’t care about whitewashing a character, but if this adaptation is okay, why Deathnote US adaptation and Scarlett Johansson got backlash?

  2. Mackenyu is soooo fine, looks wise, very few japanese actors can compare, as for his acting, he started out very stiff in his first roles in japan, his acting was mediocre but in the last movies and dramas he did, ( such as Our Dearest Sakura, a very wholesome drama I highly recommned it) his acting improved so much that it’s truly impressive. He has been plagued by scandals though, most of which are based on allegations that I hope are not true. Sadly, most manga adaptations have been bad, I see no reason to be optomistic about this one but I hope that I am wrong
