Fantasy C-drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance with Allen Ren and Song Zu Er Wraps Filming and Releases Intriguing BTS Filming Video
Alrighty, a ton of currently filming C-dramas wrapped filming over the weekend so it’s time for goodies. The first is the fantasy supernatural drama The Demon Hunter’s Romance (Chinese title 無憂渡 which means Worry Free Ferry or to transport someone over the water without worry). It’s clearly referring to the afterlife where souls are ferried across the River of Forgetfulness (the Lethe in Greek mythology). It’s adapted from a novel and stars Allen Ren (Ren Jia Lun) and Song Zu Er, a fresh pairing and honestly he already looks sooooo much alive here then in his last drama Thousand Years for You. Song Zu Er is one of those fast rising 20s something actresses and I’ve heard solid reviews for her acting and she’s quite pretty but she has like the tiniest mouth vis-a-vis her face and I’m always wanting to maybe increase it in size by like 10% and it would be more visually proportional. Totally bizarre hang up from me of course and I’m excited to watch her here with Allen and hopefully get on her bandwagon to add another actress to my C-roster.

I didn’t find Song Zhuer particularly pretty when I first saw her, but she definitely has something charming about her. Her talent in acting is also undeniable in my opinion. I hope Allen has a more playful role here. I’m pretty tired of his melancholy characters. The trailer piqued my curiosity, and I do like myself a good fantasy (that isn’t xianxia), so I’ll be checking it out!

Song Zu Er is a solid actress. She started as a child actress and rarely does idol drama. Her port folio are mostly heavy and serious dramas.
This looks amazing! Honestly 2023 C-drama’s are looking legendary! Lost You Forever, The Demon Hunters Romance, Accidental Love, Nothing But You, Hidden Lover, Sword and Fairy, Sunshine With Me and Fox Spirit Matchmaker! Imagine having all these dramas in the same year! There is so much to love about C-drama these days!
Allen is not going to be critised for being wooden now…he looks so adorable here… Looking forward to this drama..
