One of the reasons by The Glory is sooooo good is that the antagonist Park Yeon Jin played by K-actress Lim Ji Yeon is absolutely f*#king-lutely horrific. She is a sociopath in every element of the diagnosis and the actress is on fire in how she brings such a scary person to life. At the second press conference writer Kim Eun Sook actually apologized to every Park Yeon Jin named woman out there, but it should be to any Yeon Jin, for associating that name with now a truly monstrous person. The phrase “Yeon Jin-ah” is also in the slang lexicon and spoken the way Song Hye Kyo‘s Moon Dong Eun says it using warmth/closeness in the banmal but conveying that the unknown terror is yet to come. So this morning Lim Ji Yeon posted on her SNS a picture of herself smiling so sweetly and captioning it “Yeon Jin-ah, I hear you’re going to be ended”. So epic and so awesome to see her leaning in to such an iconic and hateful character knowing its just acting.
Amazing actress… She’s the reason why The Glory is one of a kdrama success.
She portrays well her role.
I agree Koala, she’s such a fabulous villain we all love to hate. Love how on-point her evil facial expressions are! For me, she’s like female version of Nam Gyu Man, the villain in Remember: War of the Son played by Namgoong Min, both so deliciously evil onscreen!
I’d say everyone is in their A-game on this drama, even Song Hye Kyo did really great (and I mean great, not “good for Song Hye Kyo standards”) on her emotional scenes, especially that scene when she confronted her mother about her mother’s betrayal!
I love everyone’s performances, but yeah, Lim Ji Yeon really deserves awards for her Park Yeon Jin portrayal
One thing about The Glory, the casting is immaculate. Everyone is simply acting their butts off and Lim Ji Yeon is amazing! Her, the actress playing the FL’s mother and the abusive husband are all vying for worst villain. Just amazing acting!
