Wu Jing Yan and Wang Xing Yue Bring the Dramatic Chemistry in Modern Pictorial Ahead of Tomorrow’s Premiere of C-drama The Double

So May went with no grippy C-drama for me, I’m not on the Joy of Life train so I can’t watch season 2 without even watching the original, and Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact was so listless and wan it’s like a match made specifically to sadden me. That means tomorrow’s June 2nd premiere of period revenge C-drama The Double has suddenly become way more interesting to me despite leads Wu Jing Yan and Wang Xing Yue not being faves of mine and I loathe anything associated with troll producer Yu Zheng. The drama looks the right kind of tense, dark, passionate and reminds me of the vibe of My Journey to You which I loved and made me like leads Zhang Ling He and Yu Shu Xin thanks to that drama. Maybe it will happen here with these two.

Wu Jing Yan and Wang Xing Yue Bring the Dramatic Chemistry in Modern Pictorial Ahead of Tomorrow’s Premiere of C-drama The Double — 16 Comments

  1. I’ve seen the first two episodes. The first episode is so dramatic and theatrical lol. The songs are beautiful and the cinematography is also dynamic and beautiful. This might be my next crack drama yay.

  2. Those black and white “modern pictorials” can’t be compared to Lu Si and An Yu’s during their pairing. Theirs were seriously fuego.

  3. I have seen a couple of episodes and I see no chemistry whatsoever between them. And I think it’s important for this type of drama. Well, plenty of other stuff to watch.

  4. Not sure about chemistry since they barely had any scenes together but the story is pretty good ,I enjoying the drama

  5. The amount of plotholes in the first few episodes alone is quite an accomplishment. The script, directing, editing are all pretty bad. But it’s kinda fun to watch and fast paced. It’s one of those dramas where you can’t take anything seriously and the characters are very very one dimensional. WXY and WJY are ok, not sure about the chemistry yet. To date, WXY had the best chemistry with Zhou Ye is Scent of Time, even though there loveline was non-existent.

I must say you are spot on in regards to the chemistry between Zhou Yu and WXY in the scent of time. As for this show…. It’s a slow romance based on the novel …. So let’s see …

      • I am willing to sell my soul to cdrama gods if they can give me another ZY and WXY collab that one, has a legit storyline/CP line and two, is not a ZY production.

      • @anubetaro gee, the price of your soul is soo cheap. Value yourself more!

      • @anubetaro I sense juvenile delinquency with your response.

I shall turn the other cheek.

  6. Zheng yu changed the premise. Instead of transmigration, he just swapped the identity of Jiang Li with the “murdered wife” so that messes up the plots ….
Although Wu Jin Yan can act, I find her looking a bit wan and maybe she is too thin which makes her look a bit haggard. So it’s not believable for her to play the role of a young unmarried teenage daughter based on the novel…
But that’s Zheng Yu…. it’s his trademark to desecrate original works ….
Anyway I will continue to watch it for the sake of Wang Xing Yue and author coz the translated version of the novel has yet to be completed

  7. Although I have never seen this guy’s acting before but just judging from his pictures, he is so handsome imo. I will definitely check this out since it seems like my type of dramas.

  8. Idk about others but i find this drama oretty good. The first 5 episodes were goooooddd. After JoL s2, this drama has got my fully attention and im ready to commit with it. Wang Xing Yue is a good actor, he can play a protagonist, an antagonist or an anti hero. Such a gem. FL, hm… she’s good in this genre. Not too much in comedy.

This drama has an intriguing plot. Hope it’ll good until the last ep.

  9. I just finished 2 episodes of this and addicted to it. Will definitely continue. The ml is even more handsome in motion.
