Luo Yun Xi Apologizes Promptly for Airport Car Mistaken Identity Incident and Deflates Budding Criticism of His Attitude

This was a fast moving averted scandal for C-actor Luo Yun Xi and can be a useful example of how to respond to netizen criticism. This week Luo Yun Xi was surrounded by fans and paparazzi as he was leaving the airport and his team led him to a car that was mistaken for the company vehicle. As they got close the car owner stepped in and exerted ownership. Luo Yun Xi appeared flustered and taken aback and said softly but out loud “好拽啊” which translates to “how arrogant/how cool does he think he is/so much attitude” along those lines. He was castigated by netizens for that comment since it was his team that mistook the car so why is he insulting the car owner. Luo Yun Xi immediately apologized to the car owner and explained he messed up by awkwardly trying to deflate the situation, telling fans never to learn from him here. His acknowledgment of making a mistake has sucked the wind out of any remaining criticism and this matter is now put to bed.

  2. Possibly he was caught by surprise at the car owner’s reaction. He is only human, and his quick apology should calm everyone. Looking forward to Luo Yunxi’s upcoming dramas as he really has strong charisma on screen.

Last week Zhou Yu looked haggard and exhausted, didn’t return the greetings by a journalist…. and she got roasted for it…. Anyway I hope they won’t cancel here coz I really wanna watch the adapted drama, The Star General (name of the novel)

    • He’s gorgeous looking and has great screen presence. The camera loves him. Hope he chooses projects wisely. I like to watch him but the dramas he’s done have been a bit boring.

      • @jana
Yes. Indeed the camera favors his sharp features …I hope he gets really pretty looking female lead who can act reasonably well (I don’t expect super good)…

  3. The price of being a celeb is too huge for me… I value my freedom and space more then the money and fame they get.
Luo Yunxi handled this well… he acknowledge his mistake and apologise. Move, lets move on…..

  4. It says a lot about his attitude if his first impulse wasn’t to apologize to the woman but to call her arrogant. Everything after is damage control.

His fans were horrible, the way they attacked her was awful to see.

      • @HL

WTH no she wasn’t! It was he who was rude. Mighty celeb who thinks he can do whatever he likes.

        Delusional stans sure are something.

      • HL, just wondering whether you have the video link. Anyway I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion. Just a small misunderstanding in the midst of stressful situation and they turn LXY into a Devil. Poor guy. I won’t be surprised if they edited the video to make him look super bad guy.

      • @HL, do you have a link to the full video? Thanks.

I’d like to see myself. But per his initial reaction alone, he did sound arrogant by calling the drive he offended “arrogant.” LOL. That’s her property. She might have been shocked seeing some stranger getting into her car without her permission. I’d be too if I were her. How’s she rude as fans and quite a few visitors claimed here? LMAO. Wait a minute! SHE IS THE OWNER OF THE CAR, NOT LYX! I’m trying to avoid using any provocative wording. But fans making unjustified excuses and defending their idols blindly appear rabid to me. LOL.

      • @Rei @Somebody, The 2 videos have been removed…better angled taken. but I found this video…her face is blurred so you cannot see her arrogance. But she did make me laugh. Lou Yunxi response was just funny to me. He was just commenting as she reflected to him. Really no big deal…another big mountain out of a molehole.

      • I found a longer version!! I finf these days the beest way not to get censored is to post videos on X or Youtube… where CCP have no control over. 🤣🤣
Luo Yunxi was not mean spirit…he was just commenting based on her reaction. Nothing to it at all. But he is really too skinny. I really dont understand Chinese love for skinny men…

      • @Somebody, you have a leech attaching itself onto you. Wow…this leech is so worst then a regular troll. Blanking this person does not work. It needs your blood to get energy.

      • @HL

He was rude. It is her car and he is behaving like that.

Imagine defending a rich, entitled dude just because he is a celeb. Yikes. You are embarrassing as much as his Chinese fans who attacked this woman like crazy.

      • @HL, thanks for the longer vid on X. LOL. This is really nothing much LOL.

I thought he said “how arrogant” in the face of the lady and he got in her car already. But nope. He just murmured to himself “how arrogant” that appeared less offensive than in the face but as he said later in his apology message, not helpful at all. LOL.

I like neither his acting nor visual. But have to be fair, this internet noise has gone too far, much ado about nothing. LOL. On a side note, why was the longer video showing the whole course removed from Weibo? What’s the intention of Weibo moderator doing so? To create more hot searches or negative publicity around him? LOL. Anything going on with the CCP powerful again? LOL

      • @HL
Thank you for the link. After watching, I realize LXY didn’t even get into the car. The passenger was very dismissive. No wonder he was surprised. Nevertheless there was no actual harm done. Just a very mild incident that doesnt warrant attacks on LXY. As for the lady…. It’s just too bad. I wish I was her coz I certainly wouldn’t mind sharing a ride with LXY 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

      • @Rei, I definitely would have handled it differently too. I would have offered him a ride instead. 🤣…Chill…too many tensed people.

    • It’s so funny to see how fans try to paint the owner’s behavior in a bad light. It’s one person most likely panicking trying to not get their car stolen up against a celebrity with security and a whole crowd of fans. One tap on the shoulder and “excuse me please” is not going to get their attention.

  5. He was making a joke and didnt even said that in front of her but after she left , but ppl maliciously edited the video

  6. It would be fairer to see the actual video footage. The footages posted by the antis have been obviously cut short and manipulated. The car owner responded very rudely and loudly, which stunned LYX, making him turn red and very embarrassed. He stood still for a long time before responding softly to diffuse the awkwardness and that response had either been manipulated in terms of increasing the volume or changing the words according to some sources. Some fans present claimed he did not say those words but something very neutral. However, it’s not so crucial now since LYX did what a responsible star would do, which is to apologise so everyone can move on. People who know LYX will be aware that he is in fact very cultured and very polite in person. He treats the people around him with respect and kindness. Just look at online reviews from brands and also anyone who has worked with him before. He is very courteous and easy to work with. It’s sad how antis will just try to jump on any stars and try to create drama for viewership to their posts.

    • He is so courteous that he is one 🕜 f Chinese celebs blacklisted by certain brands for his horrible behavior. Ah what a sweetheart.

      • Have seen many sources that praised him for his professional attitude and courtesy so far. The Chinese entertainment industry is very complex with a lot of competition among the stars and companies handling the stars. It is common to have rumours generated by opposing companies, fandoms and other camps. Understandably, LYX is also not spared from any of these negative rumours just like other stars.

      • Yeah, you can ask those “sources” how that blacklisting went? Did your idol forget about that small matter? The rest of cent didn’t.

    • @starsofFire
You perceived the whole thing pretty well. It’s really a junior incident so I dont understand why people are so harsh on him. Okay he was ushered into a wrong car (happened to me before but the car owner was super nice and polite) and the lady got mad. Next thing, he must have been bewildered and stressed out. So its natural of him to react to the lady’s outburst. Gosh they treat him as if he bombed a nation or something.

      • Yes exactly. The media loves to blow small things out of proportion. Will rather just enjoy his dramas and performances instead. He’s such a talented actor and singer. 🙂

  7. He probably had a long day travelling. We all have said stupid things when tired and just dying to get a rest.
I think he reacted quickly and correctly, especially not forgetting to call some of his overzealous fans to order which is something other celebs with unhinged fandoms seem unable to do even after days of harassing people.

    • Agree! What is admirable about LYX is he apologised to show sincerity in addressing the situation and he tried to lead his fans in the right direction, to stop any negative behaviour and his true fans did heed his advice.

  8. It seems like a pretty innocuous comment that he said he tried to lighten the mood. It’s literally 3 words, and antis are painting this whole narrative about what a terrible person he is. Not even a fan, but people need to stop thinking they know every thing about a celebrity based on some short clips. They are not the saint some fans think they are, and they’re not the worst scum like antis think they are. They’re just human.

    • They act like he committed a crime lol. We’ll never know what celebrities are really like (unless there’s hard evidence related to evil), so why can’t we just enjoy them in their profession?

      • I understand that we are free to react to news, gossip and what not. But insisting on creating narratives based on three words with irregular context is not a healthy behavior, is typical of toxic internet cultures and I would not like it to spread here. With the intensity with which they scheme stories, they should try to become screenwriters lol.

  9. How arrogant he responded to the car owner, “how arrogant!” LOL

Even he apologized for PR fiasco in the beginning, I still don’t think high regard of him. What an attitude to react to the car owner that way when he offended him first, intentionally or by mistaken !!!

    • I don’t care what his personality is like because the only thing that has value to me is his work as an actor, well, right now I don’t appreciate him as much as before because it’s hard for me to see how unhealthy he looks. But that he said, “how arrogant” is nothing if I compare him with other artists (not from China necessarily) or common people in my day to day life. LOL. It was ridiculous but nothing out of this world. If there are people with an agenda towards him, they will obviously make a big show of it and I would love to laugh at that.

    • @somebody obviously you would have defended Wang Xing Yue or Xiao Zhan if they had said, “How arrogant”. Your hypocrisy must be bigger than your small eyes you st*pid and dirty Taiwanese woman. Twainese in particular s*ck. To you and them I wish the worst of racism LOOOOL! You come to our country to make it dirty.

      • Nope! I wouldn’t defend anyone including WXY and XZ if they came across a case like this. You’re going berserk again, psycho! LOL.

      • Jealous of Taiwan? Going nuts again! LOL. Only CCP stooges would be so triggered by the word TAIWAN alone.

    • hahaha… I do not think you have seen any other people in this world except yourself in the mirror!! Chill… LYX cannot respond to whoever at whatever way he likes. We should only care about his job as an actor.

      • LOL. I don’t even care about LYX’s dramas. He’s in my unwatchable blacklist. The fact is he was arrogant and rude regardless of whether he’s an actor or not.

      • @Somebody Arrogant and rude, but that was also his free speech. We can comment or respond whatever we like. Society rules are hypocrital to be honest.🤷‍♀️

  10. Poor guy.. I just watched the video out of curiosity and it just seems so….normal😅 both of them were just overwhelmed by the whole situation, the owner was probably just scared for her property and he was embarrassed and shocked to suddenly be treated like a thief🤭, and that’s all there was. Much ado about nothing all over again!

  11. In a simple day to day life an exchange like this would’ve just gone with the wind lol I’ve watched him in 2-3 dramas and I felt he was a very good actor, and if he is mature enough to post such apology then I can only think nice of him

  12. I honestly don’t get the drama around this, unless his words have some cultural context we are not aware of. But from the video HL posted, I don’t see any wrong done by the car owner or LYX. Both of them reacted the way an average human will behave in a stressful and confusing situation.

  13. Aw this is really close to much ado about nothing as Zhou Ye’s case.

I thought he got in the car without owner’s permission and yelled “how arrogant” in the face of the car owner that appear very rude. But @HL posted the link to the vid of full length on X that recovers what happened. He didn’t get in the car and he just murmured to himself with “how arrogant,” obviously an reaction of surprise to what was going on. LOL. He made a public apology later on reflecting on his inappropriate wording “how arrogant.” That’s all that. LOL. What’s the big deal about it? All the noise should be put to rest. What more do we expect him to do? LOL. My apologies for misjudging him in the prior comments before checking the original video for the fact.

This is another case how rumors twisting facts could give inaccurate negative publicity to people, celebrities in particular. We all should learn to check the facts ourselves including watching the original video for example before spreading rumors.

  14. I just watched the X video and it’s so blown out of proportion. I feel bad for public figures, just say something quick and people make a big deal out of it.

The owner was obviously expressing her ownership in a not so calm manner. It’s uncomfortable to see people crowding in front of your car, so she spoke sort of in your face tone. She could have said, excuse me, that’s my car would have made the point. Regardless of if that was a celebrity and his crowd of fans and security. I think they would let her in. But, in stress of moment, it’s understandable she had an attitude that people are obviously going for her car.

Luo Yun Xi making a quiet remark of “So 拽.” Is only natural. Naturally, we could all think of many ways someone could come over and claim their rightful property in more calm manner. So, when she used a “that’s my car” and climbs right in without acknowledging him, it is sort of arrogant sounding regardless that it is her freedom to come in like that.

Also, for those that don’t understand Chinese, the word he used is very common. Like a kid could grab his mom and say, this is “my” mom. You could also say, what a “arrogant” kid. It has a teasing and playful undertone, not serious at all.

Pretty much, public figures can’t joke or talk in public because they need to calculate everything they say and if it could be read 100x more seriously.
