Squid Game Season 2 Premieres to Number 1 Viewership in 92 Countries on Netflix — 7 Comments

  1. Only someone with no common sense would imagine the second season will flop. No matter how bad it is, the world wide hype from the first season is bound to make S2 a must watch for most. But as per the article, whether it has the longevity to pull in the numbers a few weeks after its release is yet to be seen. Ngl, I will be watching “S3” to at least find out how it ends and as will most. So Netflix’s strategy is definitely working.

    • SAME, I’m dying for S3. I despise cliffhangers and went into it blind thinking it will at least end as a closed loop.
I am the type to wait until all seasons come out before binging so this is frustrating to no ends. ARGH lol

  2. It is expected to be no.1. Given that it was so huge back then, definitely viewers are going to check on second season.

But what is remain to be seen is how long the show can stay on top? Is there any momentum? It’s not even buzzing or trending.

I have watched the show. It’s just a rehash of the first season in term of the games and violence and with the show packing in too many well-known actors, the characters mostly leave no impression other than just being plain annoying esp T.O.P and I never expected Kang Hanuel to be that bad.

    • TOP was atrocious. I could’ve sworn I’ve seen him act before and it wasn’t this bad. Maybe I am mistaking him for someone else but damn he was difficult to watch.

  3. I’ve never been appealed to squid game. Yet for me to check out season 1. But no surprise by the viewership for season 2 given that mysterious is always the top 1 popular genre among all.

  4. S2 was much better than s1 because s1 glorifies the violence and the games but s2 actually bothered to tell us the human stories with more characters that we like more than we dislike. But the last ep was messy, the plan was not good.
