There was some movement on this drama casting earlier in the year but this week industry chatter says it’s confirmed that Li Yun Rui and Sun Zhenni will be the leads for the Hunan TV modern romance Dazzling. This is Li Yun Rui’s first casting since he broke out with Blossom at the end of 2024 last year and he’s almost done with filming the follow up to Princess Agents period drama title Rebirth (Frozen Awakening). Sun Zhenni also got a small bump up after her last aired drama The Blossoming Love aired to better than expected reviews and viewership. A vocal contingent of Blossom fans have been pushing for an immediate reunion for the two leads but I think it’s too fast and would love to see Li Yun Rui continue to grow his own career so this drama casting and genre switch up for him is great news. Production is slated to begin next month in May in the seaside city of Weihai.
