Yoona and Lee Chae Min Occupy Different Drama Genres in First Stills for K-drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty
After the male lead change little snafu, K-drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty (Korean title A Tyrant’s Chef) proceeded into filming and now the first drama stills are out. Leads Yoona and Lee Chae Min give audiences a glimpse of their before meeting life, she’s a top Michelin star chef in modern times and he’s a tyrant King in historical times. She time-travels back to his era and becomes his personal chef due to his incredible taste buds and of course love blossoms. It’s like Bu Bu Jing Xin and Dae Jang Geum had a baby. I can’t tell if these two will have chemistry with each other from these stills alone but this drama remains one I’m curious about and moderately looking forward to.

Because of my chefing background then having afew of my own restaurants. I have to say, I tend to dislike watching Chef base dramas as they are just disappointing.
I have never seen Yoona in any cooking programs, I amy watch just to see her cook.
I was more interested before they swapped the ML. Now I will wait and see how the reviews are.
I have sympathy to Lee Chae Min as an actor but still not sure about his acting. I see potential, will check if he will prove his acting skills and stage presence or not. Not much interested in Yoona (I didn’t see any of her dramas and her characters didn’t catch my interest yet), and in the synopsis though.
My fave actor was replaced (due to his own stupidity and timing) in which acting skills I was completely confident, so I’m not quite happy with cast changes here in general. But maybe it will be an enjoyable surprise with good chemistry, story and acting. Will check to see.
I think they should have casted an older actor for the King, someone who can bring the charismatic and scary side of the character in a subtil way and not just by frowning or making big eyes…
It’s unfortunate that they needed to recast so quickly. Interested in seeing a historical times king react to modern dishes and the heroine trying to adapt the limited ingredients into modern dishes. I hope they don’t slip in too many overbearing ministers.
Synopsis seriously sounds like Delicacies Destiny cdrama which I really enjoyed despite nonpt so popular leads. Nowadays it’s unfortunate that I feel kdramas lag behind cdramas.
