C-actress Yang Xi Zi Reportedly Finished Shooting Scenes for Cheng Yi’s The Journey of Legend to AI Face Swap with Second Female Lead Eleanor Lee and Drama Tentatively Scheduled for Early September
Streaming platform Tencent made a decisive decision to replace second female lead Eleanor Lee (Lee Kai Xin) in its big male lead C-drama The Journey of Legend after her alleged insulting Chinese people and entertainment industry scandal exploded in May three months ago. That’s why the reshoot with C-actress Yang Xi Zi has finished and the AI face swap post production work is also done. The role has been cut down and the remaining scenes AI face swapped to make less work and hopefully it won’t be jarring and narratively choppy when it airs. The drama is now tentatively scheduled for early September and if that’s true Tencent will start promoting it soon. This is Cheng Yi‘s big drama and his team has been anxious for it to air to keep up his status among the top male leads of his generation three of whom had big male lead C-dramas aired this year already.
The only place where it is scheduled is in the dreams of Cheng Yi fans.
Hope the production and the cast sue that girl for damage. I do get that we are entitled to our own opinion but maybe next time, before opening the mouth, better think ahead. Her career ended before it even started.
The girl is innocent, she sued her assistant and won the case. The voice recording was forged. She wont be replaced.
She didn’t sue the assistant. The assistant allegedly confessed and it ended there. Which is why absolutely nobody believes them lmao

Why sue Eleanor Lee? It turned out she was a victim because her former assistant used AI to fake the recording. But it turned out that Tencent couldn’t take the risk of it being true and dumped her immediately. She sued the former assistant and won the case in China but lost out in being cut from the film. Highly likely will never be able to film again
Noone knows if she’s really replaced. These are just rumours and tencent posted an ost of this drama last week and they still listed LKX in the cast so these are probably malicious rumours spread by disgusting xz fans
Any kind of scandal will ruin the drama. Just watched Love Never Fails with Liu Xueyi with the new actress. It’s really good. I think the new actress had better chemistry than the former actress. But when I watched it, all I could think of was the tax scandal of the canceled actress.
