IU and Park Bo Gum in When Life Gives You Tangerines Tops Joynews 2025 Poll of Best K-drama Couples
So it’s been both a relatively uneventful year in K-dramas (to date) with both buzzy hits and critically acclaimed releases. I still think when When the Stars Gossip premiered on January 4th, 2025 it just jinxed the entire year lol. Anyhoo, the Joynews poll of over a hundred K-ent insiders released their picks for Best K-drama Couple and it’s none other than IU and Park Bo Gum for When Life Gives You Tangerines. A fitting selection and even more impressive considering Bo Gummie was only in half the drama and then IU as the daughter character had two other male leads in Lee Jun Young and Kim Sun Ho. Second place went to recent big hit Bon Appétit, Your Majesty leads Yoona and Lee Chae Min. And rounding out the top three is a hilarious selection of two ladies and onscreen frenemies in Kim Go Eun and Park Ji Hyun in You and Everything Else. With that said, there are two romance dramas currently airing that could have competed in this category with Kang Tae Oh and Kim Se Jung in Moon River as well as Jang Ki Yong and Ahn Eun Jin in Dynamite Kiss.

You and Everthing Else s my favorite drama of 2025! It was so good!
Would you marry me is great too
This year’s Korean dramas didn’t have been much talk. The only somewhat memorable ones came out in the first quarter… and even those were hyping only during airing and probably a few weeks after they ended.
Now people are voting this drama as “best couple” simply because, let’s be real. everything else was so forgettable.
Last year, at least we had multiple dramas that stayed hyped for months, sparked nonstop discussions, and even built huge fandoms. But this year? Yeah… nothing’s giving.
We are 2 ! Didn’t watch anything since spring . For the first time in 2 decades i felt empty…at the end of last year i was watching When the phone rings, Doubt, Blackout, Queen of tears,…and this year …nada, rien, nicht,…happy no to be the only one …
WLGYT is a great masterpiece of art but not entertaining. That’s why although appreciating much of its artistry, I’m not compelled to re-watch it. I’m shallow LOL and get online to wind down most of the time.
Although Kdrama in the first half of 2025 is disappointing, I enjoyed a couple of decent ones in the 2nd half. Legacy kdrama fans may continue to be disappointed, and many may turn to C idol dramas if they look for romance. But I found Kdrama still has a lot to sell in their content. For viewers like me, Kdrama satisfies me way more than Cdrama in general.
