Yang Yang and Zhou Jie Qiong to Start Filming Tencent Wuxia C-drama Bu Rang Jiang Shan Next Month February 2026
Looks like C-actor Yang Yang is now firmly in the big male lead drama level, where all his projects are top lined by him and hence his female leads will have to be either up-and-comers or actresses that are well known but not able to command their own top billing. His next drama is scheduled as the Tencent wuxia period drama titled Bu Rang Jiang Shan (不让江山) and filming is starting next month in early February. It feels like a lot of projects are starting soon so Hendian studios will be humming next few months. The female lead will be Zhou Jie Qiong, and reportedly there was a lot of wrangling behind the scenes with other ambitious rising actresses trying to grab this biscuit. Like Yang Yang or not, he’s proven to bring in viewers so I can see lots of actresses taking roles that have less screentime in his dramas if ends up getting the views.
What big male lead? This is just same old he has done before.
Also he is so proven to being in viewers, he is stuck in playing the same roles and the last big IP barely passed. He is actually getting worse, not better.
“Barely passed” and yet the producers are begging him to come back for a second season and are even planning to double the budget.
Like it or not but Yang Yang is among the few actors capable of garnering views despite a cold market, poor scripts and shitty CGI
Hahahaha Did we watched the same series? Coz, I know for sure The Immortal Ascension and Zhan Zhao Adventures were different. And mind you, The Immortal Ascension got so many awards and got one of the highest CVB ratings for a web drama. The director and the producer commended him for his acting also the viewers from Donghua and Novel version of the series and planning to produce the Season 2.
I’m shocked she got lead role with him. She is an okay actress but rarely in a leading role especially in a drama worth mentioning or remembering. Very hit and miss. She is very pretty though. She would look great with him visually.
I think the role might be too inconsequential for an established actress. The likes of Tian Xiwei or Zhang Jingyi are already vying for first billed roles, so only up and coming actresses are left for these big budgeted male-led dramas (similar to Wu Lei’s The One)
I enjoyed at least two dramas led by Yang Yang so far. His visuals fitted the MLs in Love 2O2 and You Are My Glory perfectly. I don’t mind him stuck with idol dramas when he still has face (no pun intended lol) to do so while many other idol drama actors’ looks are subpar but still unfazed by viewers bashing their visuals on screen. I actually wish my own fav took more idol projects to utilize his supreme looks to the maximum while he still has it LOL rather than doing so-called “mainstream” dramas that have been pontificating in nature and boring among all I have checked out so far.
YY’s acting was a hit or miss in the past for me. I personally think he did a great job in You Are My Glory. I think he’s been gradually but slowly improving recently. At least, his visuals in costume do not bother me at all as some popular C actors. LOL.
Yeah for visual, to me no one surpassed him since I started cdrama back in 2016
I really wish some cdrama plot of veteran actor transmigrating into bad actor could happen to him lol
