Youku Tentatively Schedules Unveil: Jadewind with Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue for Early February 2026
I’m so excited to hear that Youku is reportedly scheduling the investigative period C-drama Unveil: Jadewind for early February 2026. That’s a few weeks ago and right before the coming lunar new year so if it’s good should have a shot to get high viewership thanks to the holidays off for people. Starring Bai Lu and Wang Xing Yue, it’s a reunion of the two for the third time since One and Only and Story of Kunning Palace and this time they get to be leads together. C-dramas will always shoehorn in romance even in stories like this which is very plot and mystery driven and I’m excited to see if their onscreen chemistry from prior roles where they didn’t play OTP will translate here. This is definitely top of my can’t wait to watch list, love them both.
Teaser for Unveil: Jadewind

Ig they needed to shoehorn some romance to draw in the fans. Idk they both give off sibling vibes whenever they interact on and off cam. Wxy is fine in terms of acting talent, BL is just so damn wooden n boring
Bai Lu Wooden? I suppose good acting is in the eye of the beholder. Lol
Yeah shes wooden to me, so what is it to u? And no sh*t sherlock, good acting is subjective, you didnt say anything groundbreaking lol but even then shes hardly good. LOL.
I really can’t stand Bai Lu, and I have my own reasons for feeling that way.
The drama’s synopsis and all the details I’ve seen so far make it look really interesting to me. I’ll be watching the first episodes to see if I like it, and if it hooks me, I’ll keep watching, hoping it won’t fall apart like Chinese dramas often do. Plus, I have a soft spot for Wang Xing Yue.
I just constantly feel bad for Wang Xing Yue being under Yu Zheng’s control. Well, he does have the huge advantage of being only 23 years old, so there’s still plenty of time to make a name and money for himself and hopefully leave Yu Zheng if he’s lucky. Unfortunately, Yu Zheng is the one choosing the projects. Still, I’m hopeful that Yu Zheng will give good projects to Wang Xing Yue.
I know there are a couple of people here who think that if someone at 23 years old hasn’t achieved a super career, they shouldn’t bother living another day to keep trying.
I cant stand her either. And she has some of the most annoying fans online, be in xhs, reddit or over here. They will have u think shes an award winning actress when shes nothing but a wooden idol, and is still stuck doing silly idol roles. Wxy has alot of potential but sadly is under that wretched yz. Lots of opportunities im sure but all of his dramas have been duds except the double. And hes stuck with mediocre actresses as leads like xu run han and Julia xiang, or stuck with his agency colleagues like wjy and BL, neither of whom are amazing tho WJY >>> BL.
What is happening to his face?
Love her but he does nothing for me. Idk I will check it out if I have nothing else.
WXY is an actor who transforms for every role he takes on. But it’s important to understand that images go through filters, edits, and that actors wear makeup, have eyebrow styling, and more. An actor’s image is essentially shaped and controlled by others.
If you post your face on social media, whether with filters, edits, or completely unaltered, people will still find ways to change your image. You won’t look exactly like you do in real life, and sometimes that leaves others feeling disappointed when they meet you in person. Plus, there are always those funny jokes about how your face somehow looks different in every photo.
I’m happy that it’s an investigative period drama. I hope it’s well-plotted.
I’ve been always looking forward to WXY’s new dramas since his breakout ML role in the Double. That being said, he’s wasted the whole time window without bringing in any fresh air all this time, and sometimes it was due to his leading ladies not doing jobs. I’m not sure if BL won’t be one of those female leads though. So far, I’ve got trouble finishing any of her dramas as FL.
This investigative drama sounds very interesting. Script and directing do matter a lot. I’ve been enjoying the Imperial Coroner series. Both leads of the IC (lol at the short name) are not that popular, but they still delivered the stories because the plot and the directing were just that intriguing.
Bailu can only be good in certain roles. But that’s true for most if not all actresses. There are characters they’ll always shine in.
For me, she has never met the criteria for good. But good enough. If y’all watched her first series – her counterpart acted circles around her. Yet somehow SHE got more popular. Her facial expressions are stiff, not as fluid and muted. But people love that in comparison to actresses who emote or even those who over-emote, like in dramatic scenes where there’s lots of crying involved or cutesyness. She doesn’t “overact” in those and looks “natural” precisely because she’s muted and toned down in acting in general. That’s not a sign of good acting, that’s under-emoting, which is acceptable and even appreciated by some when we’ve been bombarded with excess
