The latest industry chatter is that the script has been finalized and with the casting the production has adjusted the script and scenes to be nearly equal between the two leads. That does mean a big change to the original novel narrative which was really 70% female lead to 30% male lead, though most of his stuff happens off the page so it’s not that he doesn’t have his own cool stuff going on we just don’t see it and only hear about it afterwards. When I like a novel I do want adherence to what made it good, but here I don’t mind more Dylan screentime over Meng Zi Yi because I like him so much more than her.
