Byun Woo Seok is a Broody Prince in New Stills for MBC K-drama Perfect Crown
I have a confession, I’ve never finished watching Lovely Runner lol. I liked the first two episodes, but life got busy and I put it aside and never got back to it even after it became a breakout hit. That means I still don’t personally understand the meteoric rise of Byun Woo Seok but it’s a double edged sword for him as his next drama after LR would be under even more expectation. That drama will be the MBC series Perfect Crown with IU where he plays the fictional modern day prince of the still present monarchy in South Korea. He’s a prince with the prestige of royalty but no real power and finds himself basically the purchased groom of IU’s fabulously wealthy chaebol heiress. The latest new stills are of his character in various sumptuous wealthy person attire and he looks good enough but so far I’m not feeling any charismatic vibe as the stills are rather two-dimensional in energy.
If Lovely Runner still doesn’t click with you after two episodes, especially after the dopamine-filled ending of episode 2, then this drama is not for you. For me personally, Lovely Runner is one of the most romantic Kdramas in recent years, despite its flaws in the time-slip timeless. The main romance has this heartfelt warmth and magic, sublimated by the main leads’ off-the-chart chemistry. I like many other dramas, but not many have this re-watch value like LR. Started the drama for KHY, and ended up loving BWS. He has always managed to have chemistry with his female leads, though I am a bit unsure this time with IU. But I like the Hanbok outfit in the first still, and he has that elegance that befits a prince.

Seeing him like this makes me feel he would have looked great in a remake of Princess Hours. He looks like the comic version of it. Those outfits are so creative too.
I loved him in 20th century girl. I wouldn’t say his acting is top caliber but can see why everyone would swoon over him. For the life of me I could not bring myself to watch Lovely Runner.
I have a confession too. I ff many scenes but I finally got why many fans swooned over BWS. lol. I personally think LR is boring like most of school romance drama. There is no rewatchable value for me. That being said, both BWS and KHY were very dedicated to their love lines and convincing. That’s why they collected a lot of obsessed shippers. lol. I look forward to this new drama with IU cuz IU’s performance in the latest years has been consistently good.
You can count on me to squeal and scream with cheer delight when I come across my favorite kdrama men. I did scream in excitement when I saw these pics yesterday. I utterly love bws, I mean that’s obvious and I’m so excited for his new drama and he just oozes perfection😂😂. The man can do no wrong in my books. Bws and IU fighting!!
I have a confession that I thought Lovely Runner was overrated. Found myself more interested in the time traveling element than the chemistry between the leads. There was no chemistry in my opinion between the actors, but then also he did not make sense why this guy was in love with her for so long. The reason for him falling for her was not compelling enough to warn such an epic romance. Anyway, I had to fast forward a lot of the show to get to the end.
