First Look at Tan Jian Ci and Lu Yu Xiao in Hunan TV Period C-drama Dancing with the Tide
The speed at which C-dramas start filming and then churn out promos is astonishing, I swear this drama just started filming like maybe a week go and now the first look is here. Hunan TV period romance C-drama Dancing with the Tide (何不同舟渡 He Bu Tong Zhou Du or Why Not Cross by Ferry) released the first poster of leads Tan Jian Xi and Lu Yu Xiao to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Having Tian Jian Ci with whispies framing his face just brings back Xian Liu as Fang Feng Bei memories from Lost You Forever. I haven’t read the source novel this is based off of but the drama had been courting various leads for the last two years before finalizing with these two and kicking off production so it’s being billed as a S-level project so that bodes will for the visuals and grander scale of set pieces.

They certainly look pretty.
Ohh so excited to see this I love how we are going to have more lu yuxioa 🥰🥰
He just looks so good in historical garb.
Same old, same old.
He has looks but no stature. She has no carriage nor diction for classic beauty and her looks are pedestrian at best. Plus, tragic ending has no appeal to me in the genre of idol dramas. What a waste for a S budget!
I love seeing more of Lu Yuxiao! Unlike other faces that look heavily ‘plastic’, hers is naturally elegant. She always delivers a spot-on performance, and I can’t wait to see her in this. I just hope the synopsis and script live up to her acting talent…
There is no way all that can be natural. I bet Lu Yu Xiao has been getting micro changes, alot of them. She is looking better these days.
I thought he had presence in Lost You Forever, was the most compelling suitor. Am really enjoying his comedic chops in Filter, despite the drama being a bit silly, but still fun. Wasn’t expecting him to be so versatile.
As for her, thought she was good in My journey to you and am also really enjoying Love Between Lines, so far. So, will definitely check this out.
Oh, it was his versatility that first caught my attention. Have you ever seen him in Winter Begonia?
No, I haven’t, but I will, now. Thanks for rec.
I didn’t like LYX recent slim down, glowup. Not sure why every actress wants the same generic looks. Her natural looks are unique, reminds me of Kate Winslet Titanic-era in a way. Anyhow, hope it doesn’t distract me from her acting. She is my new favourite actress.
I don’t mind an actor’s height as long as 1) there isn’t a stark contrast with the female lead and 2) he is able to divert attention away from his disadvantage (?) and direct it towards his strengths thanks to a good performance. Folk’s mannerisms can be appealing and make one forget to notice certain physical traits. Like Namkoong Min, Jang Hyuk or and Yoo An In. Charisma and good acting skills can compensate for shorter stature. But not the other way around (I’m talking about you, Hu Yu Tian), hehehe.
