Yu Shu Xin and He Yu From Speed and Love Rumored to Reunite in Xianxia C-drama The Immortal Flesh
The C-drama reunion push is strong in recent times, so many former costars have either reunited right after doing a drama or are rumored to be with scripts sent their way. Another recent pairing is Yu Shu Xin and He Yu from last week’s fauxcest romance modern C-drama Speed and Love. The two are in talks for xianxia C-drama The Immortal Flesh (also called Fairy Meat) and aside from the terrible title it’s reportedly a well liked novel that is the source material and has nothing to do with fairy cannibalism lol. I tried so hard to watch Speed and Love since I liked the novel enough but however much He Yu was hot and perfect as Jin Zhao was however much Yu Shu Xin was moronically childish as Jiang Mu and the two did not balance each other out. But these two have been great in past xianxia dramas, her in Love Between Devil and Fairy and him in The Legend of Shen Li, so as long as her character isn’t dumb as bricks in The Immortal Flesh I can be game with this reunion.

I enjoyed their pairing in Speed & Love, so I’m for another drama together.
I’ve no opinion of him, good or bad. But I like neither her visuals, nor her acting and her voice is giving me rabies
One of her fellow competitors on Youth with You Season 2, Duan Xiaowei, has better looks and more talent, but she’s been stuck in minor or recurring roles for years. Xu Jia Qi too. The power of nepotism and connections for people without star quality in any sense. Lmao.
He Yu had credible sex appeal in Speed and Love, but having seen his other works, I still consider him an inadequate actor. I also don’t think he’s particularly visually striking, compared to Song Weilong or Zhang Linghe (who do not need particular styling or the willingness the person in charge of the camera to stand out). It’s a shame that the latter two act as if they don’t want to be noticed or remembered. LOL. Even Yang Yang, who is weak in the acting department, knows how to choose roles in which he can be appealing. It’s a better move than playing complex characters and turning them into one-dimensional ones.
It’s something I’ve always said: male actors have the advantage of being sexy (not even good-looking) on screen or having a memorable role, regardless of whether they are truly talented or not. I’ve also noticed the radical change that costume drama styling can make to some names out there to the point that they’re not recognizable in modern ones.๐ ๐คฃ
