IU Takes Charge Finding Her Royal Husband in New Preview for MBC and Disney+ K-drama Perfect Crown
A new preview is out for MBC and Disney+ K-drama Perfect Crown, posed to inject some excitement and hopefully ratings into what has been a muted K-drama first quarter in 2026. This new preview focuses on female lead IU and her role as a chaebol heiress with money seeking prestige using what her money can buy in the form of a royal husband in Byun Woo Seok. It’s definitely a change in gender trend in these types of stories but you can bet the two will be opposites attract and mutually using each other for their own purposes until said purposes dovetail and they have to face a common obstacle. The previews for this drama keep making it look better and better and that’s a good trend to have. The drama arrives April 10th so mark your calendars.
Perfect Crown teaser:

It’ll probably only be a couple of scenes, but I don’t take actors over 30 seriously when they’re playing students. LOL.
It’s obviously only a flashback, look at the filter effect
The characters here are clearly adults, unless we think student-age people are leading boardroom meetings
Aw, it was obvious that it was a flashback, that’s why I wrote that there’ll PROBABLY only be a COUPLE of scenes. LOL. It’s not going to make me change my mind about how wacky Noh Sang Hyun in particular looks ᵗᵒ ᵐᵉ.
I’m not going to have any faith in the performances, but if the leads prove me wrong, I’ll come back and ask for your prayers. LOL.
She is so ugly and a trash. Who never contributed to kpop growth while staying local but benefitted from global success of groups like bts and bp who opened big markets for kpop. Then did collabs to get some hits which charted well outside korea otherwise her music was so local. She is a also a biatch when he posted bed room selfie with a man and acted like she is innocent angel. Her trash fanbase here is other type of trash
Lmao why are you still blaming her for the bedroom selfie? She was so so young at the time, your anger should be directed towards that Eunhyuk guy who preyed on her. That dude was literally already thirsting for her when she was 16 and he was 23 (look up his Cyworld post). Really gross to blame the younger party in cases like this when it’s the grown-ass man who should’ve known better not to date someone barely legal! Check your internalized misogyny 💀
And while yes, it’s definitely BTS who paved the way for KPop to be more known internationally, but that doesn’t mean that other artists like IU, SNSD, BigBang, etc. aren’t successful in their own way. And isn’t IU more known as an actress than as a KPop idol anyway? International fans definitely know her more for her dramas than her music.
Lastly, that “ugly” comment doesn’t even worth arguing about, everyone with eyes and unbiased perspective would agree that IU is a pretty woman and is nowhere near ugly, objectively speaking. You can call her overrated in the looks department or whatever, but calling her ugly is just objectively untrue lmao
Interestingly the 2 leads always gave me slightly shady vibes, her more than him. She really rebranded herself after that pic with eunhyuk n the album controversy to suddenly become this undisputed queen of kpop or whatever and getting lead roles she doesnt even have the talent for. And constantly media playing how generous and philanthropic she is. Probably has rich backers and a very savvy PR team. And yes shes sooo plain looking but hyped up to be some great beauty. Anyhow neither of them suit the plot. This calls for some steamy heated chemistry with charisma from both but so far they are giving nothing. Both are average actors too.
😂😂😂
You don’t like IU at all so what she does, including charity, will seem bad to you. Hahaha. That’s why you excuse it with a lame talk such as “shady vibes”. I bet uou read tarot or believe in the horoscope. Lol. You only enter to this site to comment directly on articles about her and you are not even bothered by sexist remarks when it comes to someone you do not tolerate. LMAO. Is it serious, “b*tch/trash” for a selfie with Eunhyuk?😂
Her private life, except for crimes, shouldn’t be a reason for you to suffer. Lol.
The way it’s WOMEN who are hating on IU for the Eunhyuk pic is sad. How about getting angry at Eunhyuk instead since he was the grown man who took advantage of a very young girl? He was literally already thirsting after her when she was SIXTEEN. Eunhyuk is from Super Junior, and that group is infamous for going after very young girls. Leeteuk, their leader, had to apologize after getting exposed for DM-ing a 15 year old fan. There were also videos of them begging then-underage Yoona to marry them or whatever. Most of them are creeps and Eunhyuk is no exception. If anything, it was Super Junior who has had a successful “rebrand” over the years, since only the older KPop fans who were really into pop culture who can remember their controversies.
No one is calling IU “queen of KPop” either, most international fans know her more for being an actress. And why are you so mad that a woman’s past mistakes aren’t defining her anymore? Do you want people to cancel her for something she did when she was a more immature girl who was barely an adult? Holy sh*t, the way some of you women are more angry at her than at literal criminals is crazy. I’ve never seen this kind of vitriol aimed at male celebrities who did far worse. It’s sad
I’m posting my comment again since I see it hasn’t been published.
It’s funny how @Anne always goes straight for articles about IU, ready to vent her frustrations, and then tries to cover it up by pretending she’s someone who can “feel” shady vibes to justify her contempt. Lmao. She even thinks donating to charity is a bad thing when it comes to someone she doesn’t like. Poor soul. LMAO. Also, her photo with him isn’t a crime. I don’t understand why it bothers you so much that you nod your head when someone calls her a h03, wh0re, or b1tch. Why does it keep you awake at night?😂
To the troll babbling about K-pop’s growth, don’t you know that IU always credits acts like BTS for expanding the market? Hahaha. Didn’t many other artists take “advantage” of it too? Well, why am I even asking you if everyone knows that trolls have sh*t for brains?😂
“pic with Eunhyuk” thanks for providing us the instant red flag to identify unbalanced kpop nut jobs who should try getting a life instead of writing shady comments seething about IU being a success.
It’s seethe&cope season for you again lol
Happy to see them both back on screen! Not feeling the previous preview, but this one’s got me interested.
I haven’t connected with any K-drama released this year so far, but surprisingly I’ve been enjoying a C-drama, Love Story in the 70s. LOL. I hadn’t realized that it belongs to Tencent Firefly Theater. I’ve liked several dramas from that collection, my favorites being Twelve Letters, Reborn and Angels Fall Sometimes. I still have some pending but it’s a decent move by Tencet in my opinion.

i also loved some of the shows in that group except for the office ones they’re just not my thing. also interesting to note that dramas on tft have fewer episodes than the average cdrama which usually runs 32 to 40 episodes.
Yep. Period C-dramas, in particular, tend to rely on filler scenes which rarely leave a good impression on me. LOL.
I loved Twelve Letters – very underrated!
I found the production values to be above average for C-dramas, especially for modern ones.
x2. This is one of those Cdramas that I wouldn’t have minded if it had a few more eps.
Surprised to see those dramas mentioned on here. What I would highlight in them is the direct approach and balanced performances. 12 Letters is my MVP. People complained about the lack of lovey dovey scenes but chemistry on screen is not just about kisses and cuddles.
I agree, chemistry between actors can also be conveyed through subtle gestures. From my perspective, emotionally charged dialogue is important for enriching the narrative.
This is the more mature side of Tencent that in my opinion should be promoted more. I know not everyone likes bittersweet stories where the characters seem to be helpless but I find it more satisfying cuz there is character development and social commentary.
Chinese dramas still need to be more raw about social issues, but I think there’s been progress in certain productions since Better Days.
I’ve noticed people mentioning TL quite a bit for a while now.
So I took a look at 2EPs. Nice so far. It’s good to see Zheng He Hui Zi again.
I remember her role in In Blossom, also played by Ju Jing Yi. LOL.
Zheng He Hui Zi did such an fine job in just two episodes of creating a resilient, hardworking, and tenacious Yang Cai Wei. When the face-swap happens, seeing Ju Jing Yi’s awful performance constantly reminded me that she is NOT Zheng. Therefore, I felt that Liu Xue Yi’s Pan Yue was “cheating” on Yang Cai Wei. LOL.
Oh, Koala’s site never disappoints in having a blood battle in almost every comment section. LOL.
That’s right😂. Users on here make me doubt the fabric of reality but if I see there are more than 20 comments I’m grabbing my popcorn.
100%. Laughter is guaranteed.
I guess I’m in the minority. I don’t get IU’s
Appeal. I dropped hotel de Luna. Thought she was average there. I also don’t get ML’ s appeal because once again I found Lovely Runner very very overrated and had to force myself
To finish. He is tall but doesn’t not have the charisma of say a PBG when in character. So I don’t get it 🤷♀️
It took years for PBG to become a reliable actor. Almost all of BWS’s filmography is based on minor roles. If he showed potential in LR, wouldn’t it be better to see if he develops it or not? Just my two cents.
Uh so I checked his filmography, the thing is, he debuted in 2016 and is 91 born. So it’s either he never took acting classes or just hopeless at acting
Finally someone said it!! I dont get her hype and appeal tbh. Her acting tbh is just okay.
As a princess hour fan, I’m hyped.
I was five years old when I caught glimpses of Princess Hour. I remember Ju Ji-hoon’s character. Surprisingly, he was able to revive his career after his ecstasy and ketamine controversy. Here in Japan, there are actors who, after serving prison time for murder and rape, have returned to acting. In such cases, I do find it unacceptable to separate the artist from their work. LOL.
