Ma Dong Seok, Ha Jung Woo, and Lee Byung Hun Top 2018 Gallup Poll of Most Popular Film Actors
With the close of 2018 looming the polls are starting to reference the entire year and Gallup just released the most popular film actors as voted by the South Korean audiences for the year. Topping the list is everyone’s favorite tough guy Ma Dong Seok in first place, followed by perennial top film actor Ha Jung Woo with Lee Byung Hun coming in third. Check out the full list below as two pretty boys snuck in with the more grizzled veterans with Joo Ji Hoon in 5th and Jo In Sung in the 9th spot. The top South Korean movies of the 2018 box office currently stands at Along With the Gods: The Last 49 Days as number 1 even above all the Hollywood blockbusters, then the next Korean movies on the list are The Great Battle, Believer, Intimate Strangers (still in theaters), and The Spy Gone North.

MDS is not only a tough guy, he is very funny too. I enjoy his comedy movies as much as the serious crime ones. His English is good and he has American citizenship, I wonder if he will go into Hollywood like LBH.
I can’t disagree with the list. All are excellent actors. I really like MDS along with HJW. So glad to see they were first and second. I’m also happy to see Joo Ji Hoon make the list.
Where’s the picture of Ma Dong Seok? How come he’s the only one excluded? Congrats to him for taking the first place! Love the guy!!!
And as always, if there is any Movie star poll, the usual suspects should always be present: Ha Jungwoo, lee Byunghun and Hwang Jungmin.

Jo In Sung all day every day! The man is a walking saint.
Jo In Sung was great in The Great Battle. I didn’t understand why it was NJH who won all the prizes.
NJH only gets the Rookie Awards. JIS is not qualified for Rookie award anymore.
My only gripe with this list is that they are only men.
It’s a no-brainer. The list is for popular film Actors not Actresses.
The term actor now encompasses both male and female. This list does include actresses, but none of them made it in Top 10.
Actually no. This poll is for both actors and actresses.
It’s just that the film industry is way more male-centric. The highest ranked actress is Kim Hye-soo at #14, followed by Son Ye-jin at #16 and Han Ji-min at #19.
