Holy crap how can this matter keep getting worse when it was already bad enough from the outset. Police have revealed today that actor Yoo Ah In has also tested positive for cocaine and ketamine in his drug test taken when he was first investigated. The initial investigation was for unauthorized and illegal repeated propofol abuse but has since yielded … Continue reading →
It feels like the weekend drama The Real One Has Appeared is one of those meant to be stories and it’s pretty serendipitous that the two leads are on the same meant to be time line. The KBS drama starring Baek Jin Hee and Ahn Jae Hyun will air at the end of March taking over for the pretty meh … Continue reading →
I don’t know if its the height of stupidity or avarice, most likely both, that led murdered sociality Abby Choi’s ex-husband and his extended family to think they could kill her and get away with it. She’s not just a semi-famous figure in HK-ent society pages but she has a full family and husband family who would obviously note that … Continue reading →
Keeping expectations low so this one actually looks not bad. MBC Fri-Sat drama is currently Kokdu: Season of Deity which has neither ratings nor buzz and when it ends at the end of March will be succeeded by Joseon Lawyer starring Woo Do Hwan and Bona in what looks like a comedic romp about seeking justice in olden days using … Continue reading →
C-novelist Priest is well known for being prolific and also having a subset of BL novels that are wildly popular. Her BL novels have been adapted into dramas Word of Honor and Guardian and a third Sha Po Lang was filming in 2020 into the drama Winner is King (烽火流金) but has languished on the shelf due to the soft … Continue reading →
This is certainly not the kind of real life interaction viewers and fans of Love Like the Galaxy want to see whether during airing or now months later. It’s not egregious but just a tad disappointing to actual watch the video. This week a BTS video of the horseback riding scene filming in LLTG had Zhao Lu Si crying and … Continue reading →
The Queen came confidently and quietly and then slayed all the way from beginning to end. While tvN‘s Crash Course in Romance has been buzzier and also has high ratings nearly equivalent, Agency premiered a week earlier and has been not just getting the ratings but also consistently high audience feedback on the plot and acting development. Lee Bo Young … Continue reading →
I was thinking that Yoo Ah In‘s arrest and investigation into propofol abuse was probably the wake up call he needed but now I think it probably saved his life. K-ent is reporting that his propofol use was 73 times over the course of one year and the volume was 4400 milliliters worth. They have averaged that out to around … Continue reading →
It’s funny how a rom-com like Crash Course in Romance is actually more impactful as an indictment of South Korea’s oppressive educational system and obsessively controlling parents participating in it. The drama hit a new ratings high of 14.296% and can probably break 15% or more next week with the finale but it’s not going to be one of those … Continue reading →
I remember when this story broke two days ago I was like “who?” before going “OMG this is horrific and so so sad!” after reading the details. HK front page news including wall-to-wall coverage in the entertainment/society pages are all about the murder of socialite Abby Choi. She was 28-years old and the mother of four kids ages 10, 8, … Continue reading →
This sweetness could not have come at a better time to wash away the acrid taste that was The Interest of Love from my palette. Moon Ga Young did her best with a thoroughly frustrating character who created her own misery time and again and I’m glad to bounce back to what is my favorite character and performance from her … Continue reading →
Its exceptionally hard to sustain a good drama plot and I was merely hoping Crash Course in Romance could do it since it’s ratings were so incredible I just wanted a rom-com to be good til the very end. Alas the final stretch feels like this drama’s undoing much like others before it, the romance of the OTP now gotten … Continue reading →
I’m sorry but the drug use story around Yoo Ah In continues to get worse and it’s both shocking and heartbreaking as someone who watched him go from a young promising rookie over ten years ago to an A-list movie star. K-ent is reporting that the punishment for Yoo Ah In is likely going to be severe due to the … Continue reading →
