I’ve been following along with SBS big budget thriller drama Vagabond more closely so when it was pushed back from May to September to accommodate a simulcast on Netflix I was all mopey about the additional wait. I totally forgot that tvN is premiering on June 1 the epic legendary era sageuk drama Asadal Chronicles so seeing the first teaser … Continue reading →
J-actress Ishihara Satomi recently came in 2nd in a viewer poll of the top Heisei era (1989-2019) actress but she’s my personal number 1. She would actually be tied with Horitaka Maki who didn’t make the top 10 list and has since retired last year but the two really exemplify a very modern Japanese beauty I find so enchanting. Dynamic … Continue reading →
I’ve loved me some boba tea ever since it was invented like 30 years ago but nowadays it’s impossible to deny that the concoction has evolved beyond tea and tapioca pearls. You can’t walk a block anywhere in a major city without getting hit by a boba store banner but the drinks are way to sweet and more of a … Continue reading →
I still remember vividly when EXO debuted, all the excitement from SM Entertainment‘s hype machine and releasing teasers for each of the original 12 members. Since 2011 the last 8 years have been a solid ride from though, though EXO-K still has the original 6 members of this subgroup whole EXO-M lost three Chinese-born members in successive years. Now the … Continue reading →
It’s perp walk time for singer Roy Kim and I’d be remiss not to report on it when I’ve posted about his fellow chatroom buddies Seungri, Jung Joon Young, and Choi Jong Hoon facing the music earlier. Roy Kim was a later addition to this motley crew though fans noted right from the start about his potential involvement when the … Continue reading →
My new drama crack is here and it’s nearly lived up to my own hyped up hype. I totally get that my love for Kim Jae Wook and soft spot for Park Min Young irrationally gives Her Private Life more dues that it earned in the promo stage but now that it’s aired I can safely say it’s good enough … Continue reading →
Man, things just keep staying bad for idol-actor Park Yoochun, and one would think with the recent spate of K-star misbehavior that Yoochun’s prior scandal would pale in comparison. Unfortunately for him, the current news is either tangentially or directly connected to him and he’s taking the offense to claim the former. Park Yoochun held a press conference today reading … Continue reading →
I think the US is in the era of rear ends for the last few years, thanks to a certain last name starting with K family and the rise of athleisure and tights. I’m not enamored of the large rear small waist look but the transition for tights/leggings from workout wear to everyday outdoor bottoms have made me cognizant of … Continue reading →
It’s Vagabond for later and Absolute Boyfriend next on the SBS Wed-Thurs line up. Despite the proliferation of scandalous news in the K-media right now, Big Issue isn’t doing big ratings and this next drama SBS has lined up seems more like a niche genre. The network is airing the K-drama adaptation of the Japanese manga Absolute Boyfriend (Zettai Kareshi), … Continue reading →
I’m in a spring happy mood so I’ll give the total benefit of the doubt to upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs romance drama Spring Night. Starring Han Ji Min and Jung Hae In, the drama got a lot of attention even before their casting because it’s by the PD of Pretty Noona Buys Me Food (Something in the Rain), which catapulted Jung … Continue reading →
I have another 2019 drama to look forward to and it’s a comedic return for my beloved bae Moon Geun Young. The OG grown up child actress is returning with her first K-drama in 4 years with the tvN police procedural Catch That Ghost. It’s not a supernatural story as her character’s name Yoo Ryung is a homonym for ghost … Continue reading →
Now this is a surprising elective selection by singer-actor Park Hyung Sik. It’s been revealed that he applied for the elite Capital Defense Force of the South Korea army for his upcoming military enlistment. I’ve heard of the army, navy, air force, marines (hardest of them all), and of course public service for those who are physically unable to do … Continue reading →
The rumors are correct yet again coming from eagle-eyed C-netizens and the always gleeful to spread gossip C-news. Top married acting couple Mark Chao and Gao Yuan Yuan are indeed expecting a baby, their first child after 5 years of marriage and unending questions about when they were going to create progeny with their enviable visual genes. In March the … Continue reading →
