The Games are back and just in time for the Christmas break and viewers to settle in for a marathon of 7-episodes. Netflix released Squid Games 2 on December 26th and so far the reviews from all publications international and domestic are mixed, with some happy with the return and see the second season as good while others find it … Continue reading →
I loved this new preview for Motel California which brought in the current Christmas season and feels so festive. We see more of leads Lee Se Young and Na In Woo‘s characters and interactions and it’s definitely still the prickly female lead with the caring male lead set up, but so far in the promos doesn’t seem to cross the … Continue reading →
The C-viewers have spoken as a glance at the Douban ratings for K-dramas aired in 2024 shows which ones resonated in the Mainland. Topping the ratings was TVING K-drama Love in the Big City with 8.7, which was the highest of all the 2024 aired shows. Next came Lovely Runner with 8.5, and Light Shop and Dongjae, the Good or … Continue reading →
So this is a weird as heck drama title but a potentially cute as heck pairing. K-ent is reporting that Choi Woo Shik and Jung So Min have been offered the leads in an upcoming SBS rom-com drama titled Marry Me in Space. It’s a fake marriage set up is all that is known about the plot, and the drama … Continue reading →
Okay, I love this going against the grain even though I love one drama and legit missed watching the other which kinda validates this opinion haha. Cine21 magazine in Korea named it’s most overrated and underrated K-drama of 2024. The latter is A Virtuous Business airing on jTBC in late fall about four ladies in a small village town that … Continue reading →
This drama started filming a few months ago and should be wrapping up soon, and is slated to arrive sometime in 2025 on SBS. I’m talking about romance K-drama Our Movie, which from the synopsis feels absolutely old school Hallyu and what makes it feel fresh is leads Namgoong Min and Jeon Yeo Bin who constantly evolve in their roles … Continue reading →
It’s still crazy that the two biggest K-dramas of this year 2024 aired basically at the same time, with a full month overlap. I’m talking about Queen of Tears which has been confirmed by GoodData as the buzziest K-drama of the year, followed by Lovely Runner in second place. The two never didn’t air in the same time slot but … Continue reading →
This is an interesting twist on what sounds like a standard legal K-drama, the male lead attorney can see ghosts lol. MBC has confirmed the production on a legal drama airing in mid-2024 titled Labor Attorney Noh Moo Jin. The drama will star Jung Kyung Ho as the titular lawyer who is an ambulance chaser of sorts, he can see … Continue reading →
The K-public has a thing against male stars exempt from or getting a lower grade military service unless it’s wholly justified. This one seems to be just luck of the draw in favor of actor Na In Woo. He’s been officially exempt from serving in the military after he was classified as a lower level and eligible for public service … Continue reading →
The stars are aligning at last for tvN drama When the Stars Gossip (Ask the Stars), and in pretty early fashion to boot. In recent years press conferences for K-dramas usually are only a few days ahead of the premiere and some even the day of, but it’s still two weeks away before When the Stars Gossip with Lee Min … Continue reading →
There are two recent poll results out and both unrelated polls have the same four names on the the list. Kobaco, the Korean broadcast association, did a poll of consumers to ask their favorite most loved K-star of 2024 in commercials. Kim Soo Hyun is the top actor with 12.8% of the vote followed by Byun Woo Seok with 9.5%, … Continue reading →
Next year in 2025 is likely the year with Kim Sun Ho makes a full comeback. He’s had good success in movies but next year he will be in a rom-com with Go Yoon Jung written by the Hong Sisters. Heading into next year he’s making a big change by signing with a new agency. He’s not going to re-sign … Continue reading →
So I’m still of the belief that much hyped but also much disappointing childhood first love drama Love Next Door was so frustrating in part because of how much the two leads bickered. She was too bossy and he never expressed himself that the viewers initially couldn’t feel why those two were fated to be together other than they grew … Continue reading →
