Boys! I know you guys are young, and ridiculously popular, and two of you are dating veritable goddesses in the C-entertainment industry (Gao Yuan Yuan and Ni Ni, respectively), but can you guys at least attempt to tone down your collectively preening for the cameras. Oh what the heck, bring it on! The cast of the upcoming wuxia mystery C-movie … Continue reading →
In anticipation of what looks increasingly like the final casting for the upcoming time-travel drama Future’s Choice (or Mi Rae’s Choice), I wanted to take a walk down memory lane to five years ago when a very young Yoon Eun Hye and still quite callow Lee Dong Gun collaborated on a CF project that was loaded with cute but not … Continue reading →
I’m watching (or really casually following along with) three weekend K-dramas for more or less ennui. None of them are really all that good, and the crazy and boring parts are easy to fast forward and keep bopping along. Goddess of Marriage is one of them, and my only reason for checking on that one is Kim Ji Hoon. I … Continue reading →
The current weekend drama I Summon You, Gold continues to be crazier than a squirrel family reunion on speed, including rumors that it might not have a male lead since Yeon Jung Hoon is pissed at the batshit insane writing for his messy love triangle with long lost-twin sisters and is getting his character shipped off to Italy and maybe … Continue reading →
When a movies makes a crap load of money, it doesn’t even matter if its good, a sequel must be had. The blockbuster 2010 Hong Kong movie Detective Dee: Mystery of the Phantom Flame directed by famed wuxia director Tsui Hark and starring Andy Lau, Deng Cao and Carina Lau has yielded a prequel that is soon to grace the movie … Continue reading →
Lee Min Ho has spent the Summer traveling around Asia doing various mini-concert fan meetings and it’s likely time well spent for his pocket books and for drumming up interest in his upcoming K-drama Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs. It’s been over two years since his last modern drama City Hunter so his fans are likely … Continue reading →
Vanness Wu is seriously gunning for most romantic Taiwanese male entertainer of the year award. On August 13th, which happens to be Chinese Valentine’s Day since its July 7th on the lunar calendar and that is the day the legendary Cow Herder and Weaver Girl can finally meet in the Milky Way, Vanness released a statement that he’s registered his … Continue reading →
Man, K-ent with its bombshell news cycles just love to screw with my sleep patterns. Before calling it a night, out came the news from Korea that the December SBS drama Man From the Stars has confirmed the long rumored leads in Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun. As everyone knows by now, this would reunite them from the … Continue reading →
Go ahead, judge me all you want. The appreciation for male beauty needn’t be a shameful thing, as along as its acknowledged thusly and no further validation is added thereto. I’ve wondered why its taken so long since Song Seung Heon started his acting career for him to strip away any pretense that he can act and just let his … Continue reading →
I love that what’s happening in Two Weeks feels very emotional but isn’t actually motivated by the personal. It’s not about revenge or retribution, it’s about the ever present conflict between greed and justice and one very unfortunate Jang Tae San is caught in the middle of it. Unlike recent thriller dramas such as Cruel City and Shark, there isn’t … Continue reading →
There has been a sighting of one of those nearly extinct species known as the naturally good looking K-acting god. Hyun Bin, who has chosen as his first post-military project the sageuk movie A King’s Wrath, surfaced this past weekend at a Samsung event in Seoul. Binnie has been a Samsung spokesperson for years now, even before he enlisted in … Continue reading →
Sometimes it takes a whole lotta crazy and some tangential love to get my attention for a drama and by golly the upcoming KBS daily drama Ruby’s Ring hits it out of the park. I’ve been waiting for Park Kwang Hyun to come back to the small screen ever since he was seriously one of the few highlights of Cheongdamdong … Continue reading →
Over the weekend I was writing the recap for Two Weeks episodes 1 and 2, because this drama is totally jjangbak and it was siren calling me to recap it after it revived my enthusiasm post my disappointment with The Master’s Sun. Alas, I lost my recap in its entirety due to a freak computer outage. Instead of re-writing it when I … Continue reading →
