This drama is absolutely batshit insane. Crazy……but good. So I guess its crazy good then? I don’t know beyond episode 1 but so far I am soaking up everything I see. Unless I really love or hate a drama, nowadays I have no time nor inclination to write about it. Even a first impression review since I’d rather summon the … Continue reading →
Yippee yay, as this shortened work week heads into a long holiday weekend for me, what better way to kick start the happy time off than a piping hot just released new snippet from the upcoming episode 8 of Monstar. Part of me wants more Monstar episodes but knowing that we only have 5 more left makes me want to … Continue reading →
Yun Zhong Ge the drama looks so beautiful I have no words. Gah, what is this magic happening? If the drama adaptation of writer Tong Hua‘s Da Mo Yao (Ballad of the Desert) felt like a balloon gradually deflating as my excitement and interest went from one hundred to zero in the court of the casting shenanigans, filming chintzy feel, and … Continue reading →
I wonder if Dispatch is on a set time table these days. This tabloid newspaper seems to break juicy dating gossip on a regular basis lately, outing celebrity couple after celebrity couple every month or so. 2013 really might go down as one of those years that is chock full of hooking up news. I have nothing against celebrity couples, … Continue reading →
I have a weak constitution and can only handle shock attacks in waves, so there better not be another bomb dropped on my psyche in the near future, or at least until I recover from this latest inevitable hope crushing news. Chris Wu, who has been laying low enjoying his time off for the past month and a half since … Continue reading →
It’s been four long years since Yamashita Tomohisa graced the screen in a Fuji TV Getsuku (Monday@9) when he stole my heart in Buzzer Beat, which to this day remains one of the best dramas at capturing the heady days and nights of Summer. He returns next Monday to Fuji TV with Summer Nude, which follows the time slot vacated … Continue reading →
I’m so pissed off after this weekend’s Goddess of Marriage monstrosity of a weekend drama that the frustration was lifted only after seeing these drop-dead gorgeous pictures of former Flower Boy Next Door co-stars Kim Ji Hoon and Park Shin Hye attending the opening night of the Chinese Film Festival in Korea. Hopefully this will serve as a balm for … Continue reading →
In anticipating the upcoming Sword and Flower (The Blade and Petal), part of the excitement stems from knowing this drama has the potential to be all about the quality acting. Setting who looks hot or not, this sageuk will be about visuals stemming from the direction rather than the actors faces. Korean entertainments predilection for facial conformity these days make … Continue reading →
When I’m excited about a drama then the video teasers are much appreciated since it starts the ball rolling on the goodies. When I could give a fig then video teasers for dramas feel so pointless because its usually comprised of material not from the drama proper and sometimes have no bearing on the end product. In that sense it … Continue reading →
Lately the photo shoots I’ve been seeing have all been on the underwhelming side. Great outdoor shoot locations aren’t used for any visible impact, hardly any innovative wow concepts, and generally the two-dimensional aspect of print photos have been like its name suggests and felt flat. A good print photograph feels like a snap shot of a moment in time, … Continue reading →
It feels like all the second lead Sun Woo shippers in Monstar switched over to shipping him with Na Na rather than Se Yi. That works for me, though the love triangle bit was absolutely compelling. That scene in the car in episode 6 when Sun Woo revealed that he was THE Sun Woo from Se Yi’s childhood, and the … Continue reading →
I usually embrace change readily but one thing I remain adamantly old school about are wuxia dramas. I don’t do fantasy wuxia or RPG wuxia because it’s like some weird hybrid of silliness without the epic depth. I’ve watched a few of Tangren’s takes such as Chinese Paladin, Chinese Paladin 3, and Xuan Yuan Sword and none of them were … Continue reading →
The other upcoming I-see-dead-people K-drama The Master’s Sun has quietly started filming two weeks ago and I’m loving the massive head start this drama got. It’s slated to air on SBS Wed-Thurs after I Hear Your Voice, and if that drama gets a four-episode extension from sixteen to twenty episodes due to the good ratings, then TMS won’t air until … Continue reading →
