Jung Kyung Ho has been out of the army for awhile now and he hasn’t exactly been laying low. He did the Ha Jung Woo directed movie Roller Coaster (set for a Summer release) but we’ll get to see him back onscreen earlier than that with a pretty interesting upcoming drama. He’s chosen to headline jTBC‘s upcoming cops-and-bad-guys thriller drama … Continue reading →
It’s pretty funny to see these stunning new edgy High Cut magazine pictures from Han Hyo Joo at the same time I’m falling in love with Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love. Han Hyo Joo’s most famous performance to-date has to be her starring role in the K-drama Dong Yi. I confess to checking out pretty early (at episode 20 … Continue reading →
I was dragging my feet translating the previews for episode 15 of King Flower for one reason only – it was pissing me off big time. Now both the Taiwan and China fans are up in arms over how the writer is forcing Lin Guan Jun down on throats, but in the process only making him more of a despicable … Continue reading →
Taiwan actresses are by-and-large way more natural still than their Korean counterparts. I haven’t seen a lot of plastic surgery to the degree that seems to be dominating Korea in the last decade, and for that I am actually way more appreciative of how there is such a diverse range of looks that are embraced in Taiwan when it comes … Continue reading →
I used to think Godfrey Gao was the Daniel Henney of Taiwan – grew up abroad, speaks fluent English, model tall and ridiculously good looking, can’t really act but who cares in exchange for the eye candy. While Daniel hasn’t improved much in acting in the ensuing years, I’d say Godfrey has improved by leaps and bounds. He’s still not … Continue reading →
So this might be the most hilarious case of crossed wires ever in the casting rumor mill, and you can’t blame me (and many others) for reporting on what turns out to be erroneous news. So I heard that Lee Bo Young was being courted for the drama that was going to follow All About My Romance on SBS Wed-Thurs. … Continue reading →
Korea has so many legit child actors that the anticipation of watching them mature and step into leading roles increases with each successive project. But having the acting chops doesn’t mean there are that many suitable transition roles for them. Yoo Seung Ho is in the military now but his acting career in the last 3 years is best described … Continue reading →
Never fear, I’m still recapping King Flower. It hasn’t pissed me off to the extent I’m forced to stop recapping for the sake of my sanity (see Miss Rose), though episode 14 was by and large a narrative throwaway. But the preview for episode 15? Holy cow the shit is about to hit the fan, and I for one want … Continue reading →
As much as I’m enthralled with the current universe of Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love, I am seriously on pins and needles waiting for second male lead Jae Hee to show up. And based on the just released stills from SBS, Chi Soo orabeoni is showing up next week! I bet he’s going to up the pathos significantly and become a … Continue reading →
There have been plenty of disappointments this year already in the K-drama world, but none quite reach the level of IRIS 2. The biggest budget in the history of K-drama (consider it inflation from the IRIS and Athena: Goddess of War days), a sprawling cast, a hopping location shoot, and a franchise that is far from storied but did bring … Continue reading →
Uhm Tae Woong must be in a sageuk mood, because he’s trading one for another just to satisfy that craving. He’s been attached to the SBS remake of the biography of Admiral Yi Soon Shin for what feels like forever, and clearly something was up with that drama because the production was definitely taking forever. Uhm Tae Woong may be … Continue reading →
So my growing obsession with Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love is starting to gain steam and this might hit runaway train status faster than any drama in my watching-blogging history. I need to slow myself down before I get my heart broken in the off chance the show starts sucking. I do have a tiny bit of comfort knowing … Continue reading →
When I do posts about press conferences I normally top it with a picture of the pretty OTP, or the fashionable four leads, or even the entire sprawling cast. I have yet to lead with a picture of the two males leads, and I thought I would reserve that honor for the day Korea did a drama about the love … Continue reading →
