Lots of folks who are iffy about Suzy are perhaps hoping her starring role in the high profile Gu Family Book will change their impression of her. I adore Suzy, but its not for her acting ability as much as its for her onscreen charm and potential. I don’t think her performance in GFB will vault her over the hump … Continue reading →
After watching the special episode for Rich Man, Poor Woman, there isn’t a doubt in my mind that it was warranted. It wasn’t just necessary, it was satisfying and entertaining with a sense of freshness missing from dramaland lately. The SP captured the effervescence of the original dorama and took it to new places. After this, I’m pretty much onboard for a season … Continue reading →
Janine Chang and Vic Zhou are one of those onscreen couples that really work for me despite not having a definitive OTP project between them. Janine has done two dramas with Zai Zai, Black & White and Returning Home, but she’s probably most memorable for hitting up the F4 boys with her pairing with Jerry Yan in The Hospital. Janine … Continue reading →
Woah momma what do we have here? While the more high profile upcoming sageuks Gu Family Book for MBC and Jang Ok Jung, Live in Love for SBS have been getting the majority of the press and attention (also because they are airing head-to-head), over at KBS the cast and crew have been quietly filming The Fugitive of Joseon (the … Continue reading →
With the end of That Winter, The Wind Blows, Spring has officially arrived in dramaland and with it comes a spate of new primetime dramas to check out. Will it continue my ennui from Winter, or will I snap to rapt attention? This week saw the premiere of When a Man Loves and All About My Love, the former is … Continue reading →
Surprise! Ha, even after a year I still flashback to Big when I write that. Yeah, that drama was wack-a-mole ridiculous in plot, but I got so much out of it feelings-wise. I guess that same opinion could be applied to Yoo Seung Ho‘s last drama before his enlistment, Missing You, so I get why people like it, but there … Continue reading →
Oh King Flower, why you have to go break my heart. And piss me off royally in the process. It’s like you and I were unexpected BFFS, but then our love affair is potentially going down the drain as quickly as it began. I can’t blame the drama, or any of the actors, I can only lay the blame on … Continue reading →
Detectives at the Western Police Station in Seoul have officially concluded their investigation into the allegations that Park Shi Hoo raped trainee A on the night of February 14th and handed it off to the prosecutor’s office with a recommendation to indict. The police have formally announced that their conclusion that a crime was likely committed was based on answers … Continue reading →
Casting fairies say whut? I was NOT expecting this at all, totally came out of left field at me. It wasn’t that I never expected Park Shin Hye to star in a drama with Lee Min Ho, since there are a limited number of talented actors in that age group the odds are they would pair up at some point. … Continue reading →
How is this even a scandal worthy of being on the cover of Apple Daily I don’t even know. James Wen, who is currently starring in King Flower, just celebrated his 35th birthday, and has released his first mini-album “Why Bother”, is flying pretty high in terms of his career. He got a lot of notoriety for playing the shittiest … Continue reading →
Rainie Yang worked non-stop as an actress for so long (a decade really) that its been really odd for her to focus solely on her singing career these past two years without a single acting project in the mix. She hasn’t acted since Drunken to Love You in 2011 and doesn’t have anything lined up as far as I’m concerned. … Continue reading →
Gu Family Book tugs at all my happy heart strings even as my brain tells me to slow down and put its guard up. This drama is written by the writer of Man of Honor and Baker King, Kim Tae Gu, after all. But when I see Lee Seung Gi smile, my willpower is lost and all I can do … Continue reading →
After the collective freak out and hernia two weeks ago at the Yun Zhong Ge Baidu bar over the casting shuffles and the possibility of Yuan Shan Shan taking on the leading role in Yu Zheng‘s drama adaptation of Yun Zhong Ge called Love Story of the Great Han Period, the drama quietly started filming yesterday with a confirmed cast that … Continue reading →
