I posted about 3 weeks ago that Lie to Me was currently #1 on all the major Asian streaming sites and drama sites. China’s Tudou and Youku alone stream hundreds of millions of videos a day. While ratings for LTM domestically are nowhere near abysmal (that would be my darling Playful Kiss), it’s low for a drama starring Yoon Eun … Continue reading →
This episode of Best Love (The Greatest Love) was surprisingly low key, a little too low key for my tastes to be honest. It did end on a whopper of an ending that left me totally blubbering like an incoherent loon. But for the most part it felt like people were rehashing some of the same issues that ought to … Continue reading →
The first couple stills are out for Lee Dong Wook and Kim Sun Ah in the upcoming SBS weekend drama Scent of a Woman. Oh, and clearly this also means Lee Dong Wook is out as well – of the military, that is. I swear it was yesterday that Partner finished filming and Wook was shipped off, and yet here he … Continue reading →
I’m not surprised there has been no video preview or written preview from MBC with respect to Best Love. It keeps the mystery of Jin’s surgery alive, and fan fervor will hopefully push the drama way over the 20% ratings mark, making it I suspect the highest rated rom-com in 2011 so far. Well, MBC caved or just got nice, because … Continue reading →
I was supposed to be writing this recap, but instead I spent a good thirty minutes reading and laughing my head off, having heard whispers and now confirmation, that the plot of the second half of New Gisaeng Story went to the wolves. So some dude name Andre (*cough Thundie cough*) recapped NGS. Reading said recap made me realize once … Continue reading →
For naysayers who say Lie to Me doesn’t have a plot, I beg to differ. Oh, it has a plot alright, it’s just at times slow, at times fast, and mostly just there as a driver and not much of a navigator, leaving that to the two leads to shoulder on chemistry alone. Things happen, but the writer doesn’t properly … Continue reading →
This has got to be one of the best episodes of Drunken to Love You. From beginning to end, I was just hollering inside for the continued Song Jie Xiu brand of emotional pressure and breakthrough. This man takes no crap or bullshit from anyone. Not from ex-girlfriend Avril, stab wound guilt trip or not. Not from contract wife Xiao Ru, … Continue reading →
For a second episode in a row, we have Ki Joon and Ah Jung dating. ‘Tis true, they work and they date like normal people do, at least before the lie scandal explodes for real this time around. Strip away the overarching plot lines of the lie converging with Ki Joon’s business deal merging with Yoon Joo, Lie to Me could … Continue reading →
Man, I don’t know what it is about Lie to Me that gets such strong and divisive reactions from people. So many dramas come and go, some liking it while others don’t, but for the most part it’s just there. With LTM, it’s like every plot development gets dissected as making sense or not. Trust me when I say 9 … Continue reading →
This has been an insane weekend for me. I started off Friday night going to the U2 concert and I’m still partially deaf 48 hours later. Then real life got sorta upended for the next two weeks with some unforeseen complications, so suddenly I’m busier than I normally am. I’m starting to feel an out-of-body experience where I am watching … Continue reading →
I need a new episode of Lie to Me like a thirsty desert traveler needs water from an oasis source. I said I wanted Ah Jung and Ki Joon to face the tangible consequences of their fake marriage scandal, and looks like my wish is about to come true. It has to happen, because Ki Joon is a well-known figure, … Continue reading →
Kang Ji Hwan‘s fanclub recently visited the Lie to Me set and snapped some pictures with wuri Ki Joon and his underlings Park Hoon (Kwon Se In), Manager Park (Park Ji Yoon), as well as the PD. But where is wuri Jungie? I guess it’s okay they are not attached at the hip – based on spoiler pictures for the upcoming … Continue reading →
A weekend drama? Why, why you do this to me, Jin Yi Han! Despite my adoration of Kim So Eun and Jin Yi Han, I couldn’t watch more than a few episodes of Fine Windy Day. Daily dramas really aren’t my thing. The only daily drama I have ever watched in its entirety (130 some episodes, I recollect) was Be … Continue reading →
