The recently started filming period C-drama A Dream Within a Dream went ahead and released the first teaser posters this week and it’s nothing to write home about. Your standard each character in a different color posing in costume prettily visuals with leads Li Yi Tong, Liu Yu Ning, Wang Yi Lun, and Zhu Xu Dan. Li Yi Tong has … Continue reading →
Well this is a bit of good news for two K-actresses having been in controversy recently for their personal lives. K-ent is reporting that Han So Hee and Jeon Jong Seo have been ask in the thriller K-drama Project Y, helmed by the writer/director Lee Hwan of the movies Park Hwa Young and Young Adult Matters. This sounds like a … Continue reading →
This is a new rumored pairing for an upcoming period C-drama and it’s two stars I’ve not thought of working together before. The C-drama Wan Xin Ji (绾心记) from the director of The Long Ballad is about to start production and reportedly the leads will be Chen Zhe Yuan and Wang Chu Ran. It’s a period drama so not xianxia … Continue reading →
It’s off to the 2024 Cannes Film Festival next month in May for HK director Peter Chan and top C-actress Zhang Zi Yi in their highly anticipated and award fodder movie She Has No Name (酱园弄). It’s a movie depicting an infamous real life murder case in 1945 Shanghai where an abused wife with just the surname Chan killed her … Continue reading →
I had such a good time watching tvN drama Queen of Tears live. THIS is the spectacle and feels I live for as a K-drama watcher, we all want to see dramas that arrive which bring out strong emotions, This was my personal favorite Park Ji Eun penned drama, which just says I liked but never loved You From Another … Continue reading →
I think production sitting on long finished but unable to get airing permit C-dramas should quickly do this method before it’s fully outlawed. C-ent is reporting the Night Wanderer with the cancelled Deng Lun and Ni Ni is readying to air drop the drama before pulling it like BL-drama The Spirealm did earlier. Recently there was talk that another BL-drama … Continue reading →
For a solid supporting actress working in C-ent for many years, this breakout opportunity for Zheng Hehuizi feels hard earned and I am so happy for her. She’s so easy to watch in any role I’ve seen of her. But I don’t think she’s now elevated to leading lady status but at least she’s got more biscuits on her plate … Continue reading →
So I suggest keeping expectations low for this drama, despite the fan love for the original source novel. The C-drama Xian Yu is adapted from the novel Offering Salted Fish to Master and has been in the works for years for live action and manifested it finally with leads Chen Fei Yu and Wang Ying Lu cast last year after … Continue reading →
So this is the drama trolly producer Yu Zheng recently praised as better than Goblin and The Glory, which beyond the hyperbole just seems like so unrelated as this is a xianxia drama and those are just different genres lol. He just wrapped filming for ensemble period C-drama Perfect Match but has already started filming for xianxia C-drama Lin Jiang … Continue reading →
So the most recent casting for this drama is now confirmed as the final selection and the show is scheduled to start filming soon. Kim Sun Ho and Go Yoon Jung will start filming for the Hong Sisters romance drama Can This Love be Translated reunites her with the writing duo from Alchemy of Souls. The drama is about a … Continue reading →
So there is a popularity award in both the film and the television sections of the Baeksang Awards so these two may win in the drama section even if not winning the Best Actor and Best Actress prizes respectively. I’m talking about Kim Soo Hyun for Queen of Tears and Ahn Eun Jin for My Dearest, who are leading the … Continue reading →
I have such a soft spot for C-actress Yang Mi and it just makes me sad that she can’t seen to turn things around in terms of reviews and feedback on her acting in recent years. Her recently aired C-drama In the Name of the Brother (Harbin 1944) was a foray into the spy thriller genre with a strong leading … Continue reading →
So Queen of Tears was filmed in 2023 and wrapped awhile ago so it’s not a surprise that the leads are scattered to the winds. But they will be having a second wrap party since the drama is doing gangbuster ratings and massive buzz, plus tvN is releasing two additional special episodes so I’m assuming the main cast is getting … Continue reading →
