Holy hot cakes this is absolutely the wildest casting of 2022, and maybe of the last few years. When have I ever seen a male lead reunite with his female lead but then as the second male lead. Like, whut? K-ent is reporting that Jung Hae In will be joining the cast of K-drama Tree Dies on Their Feet, but … Continue reading →
Clearly the Lee Jun Ki drama suffering streak will continue onwards with his next drama Again My Life. The observation is that Lee Jun Ki portrays angst and suffering so beautifully onscreen that he’s ALWAYS being made to fall into pits of despair in whatever drama plot or genre he’s in. In Again My Life, he’s a prosecutor who gets … Continue reading →
I always equate the South Korean government good taxpayer awards like when the school hands out perfect attendance prizes and this year 2022’s recipient are clearly a very good boy and girl when it comes to paying their taxes. Lee Seung Gi and Jo Boa are among the around 1000 citizens noted for their good taxpaying habits, and 22 of … Continue reading →
Everyone has a different amount of appetite in a meal and I’ve decided my weekends are only able to juggle one drama. I can do more than one drama per week but for a given time slot right now I’m maxed out mentally. So that means putting Twenty Five, Twenty One on wait to binge (I was planning to start … Continue reading →
Man, this drama is so bad it can’t even me hate-watched or cringe-watched or basically just watched. And it’s with my C-ent cutie pie Li Yi Feng but either he was lobotomized while filming it or he really is that bad of an actor, all I know is this has started C-drama in 2022 year of the Tiger off on … Continue reading →
I’ve never liked actor Yoon Park, but more accurately I’ve never liked any character he’s played and that’s influenced how I associate with him, e.g. smarmy asshole types. But then he’s doing such a great job of being exactly that in Forecasting Love and Weather, but with more vulnerability and weakness and also great subtle comedic timing. He’s definitely a … Continue reading →
Two decades of K-drama watching and a still keen memory tells me that a hot mess drama casting/production isn’t always indicative of a bad drama to come, buuuuuuut it does tend to turn out that way with only a handful able to overcome a messy start. The upcoming Hong Sisters new drama Return (Returning Soul) had a leading lady switch … Continue reading →
Another drama related shut down in K-ent related to its still swarming spread of COVID-19 in South Korea. Lee Se Hee of KBS hit weekend drama Young Lady and Gentlemen just tested positive and is in self-quarantine. Filming has been paused and no news on whether this will impact episode airing dates but the drama is on the back end … Continue reading →
March is a nice season changing month, fully one foot in spring but still has the waning chill of winter. For pictorials the fashion world is fully into spring though and this Vogue Hong Kong March 2022 spread with K-actor Song Joong Ki gathers a great wardrobe that works for both seasons. Song Joong Ki is an actor that when … Continue reading →
Well this came out of nowhere, or at least I thought the negative news associated with K-actress Seo Ye Ji was all in the past. This week K-ent reported on a post of a resident of a villa complex who claimed that Seo Ye Ji’s parents and herself were really rude neighbors. The post said Seo Ye Ji’s parents put … Continue reading →
*Grabby hands* When is this drama going to air?! K-actor Lee Jong Seok is one of my faves and he was in military service from 2019-2021 but came out last year and still hasn’t been seen yet on the big or small screen. He did pick his projects which just haven’t aired yet but hopefully the drama comes first with … Continue reading →
The last five years has seen C-dramas turn BL novels (danmei) into adaptations (dangai) that soften the same-sex romance into bromance for mainstream television airing, with a few streaming C-dramas that hew to the original BL storyline directly. That was halted late last year as part of the government crackdown on cultural excess and deviation which was hard for what … Continue reading →
So I haven’t started on jTBC Wed-Thurs drama Thirty Nine yet still, not because I don’t want to watch just have too much on my plate between Forecasting Love and Weather, Twenty Five, Twenty One, and now A Business Proposal. I also still need to binge All of Us are Dead and Juvenile Justice. But back to Thirty Nine, it … Continue reading →
