The long gap with K-actor Park Seo Joon in his drama comeback feels like it’s time well spent for him during the interim of his hit 2020 drama Itaewon Class and his 2023 upcoming drama Gyeongseong Creature (K Project). He filming movies during this time and he’s established and successful enough to not rush himself to get back on the … Continue reading →
This week Wed-Thurs will have no new K-dramas or shows airing due to the high profile real life event that is the South Korean presidential election. Thirty Nine is the biggest name drama to get a preemption but between the war in Ukraine, economic woes domestically, spiking COVID-19 cases, and two new dudes up for president I can’t see the … Continue reading →
The Jung Ho Yeon popularity train does not appear to be slowly down in the slightest, nearly six months after Squid Game propelled her from model to worldwide star. Last week she won a SAG Best Actress TV award which will only put the spotlight on her next acting project even stronger. For now she continues to expand her modeling … Continue reading →
SBS Mon-Tues drama A Business Proposal remains my candy corn of choice, so much sugar but oh so fun to ingest. Episode 4 continued the ratings rise albeit a smaller amount up to 8.7% which makes me excited and hopeful this rom-com will be one of the rare to break 10%. But then I realized that it’s only a 12-episode … Continue reading →
All those climate analogies in jTBC drama Forecasting Love and Weather have been a breath of fresh air, something different in describing the ebbs and flows of human relationships and work place travails. Leading lady Park Min Young really pulled this one out of a hat, or maybe she was always just this solid in her niche, either way she’s … Continue reading →
Well lookee here, the worst dramas turned out to be the best drama, and this is now Dali and the Cocky Prince part deux in terms of low expectations and unexpectedly awesome product. Last week’s premiere of A Business Proposal on SBS was a breath of fresh air, a true rom-com with all the cute quirks that played up a … Continue reading →
Okay, these two either went “Hold My Beer” around the other star relationship news recently or they are legit starring in their own K-drama. I hope its the latter but also realize it doesn’t matter, folks who are rich and famous usually figure it out for better or for worse. A twin shock was dropped on K-ent and TW-ent on … Continue reading →
The 2022 line up of Netflix K-dramas hasn’t gotten as much attention and buzz compared to the 2021 reveal that was a good ten-deep in big name productions, but then again all that traction from last year will benefit this year even better than pre-airing buzz. One of the dramas on deck is The Sound of Magic (Annarasumanara) which was … Continue reading →
The return of the on Olympic hiatus weekend K-dramas slowed the ratings increase for the two new arrivals Forecasting Love and Weather and Twenty Five, Twenty One but now two weekends in it’s clear these two will be set as hit and bigger hit under its belt. Twenty Five, Twenty One broke the 10% ratings mark this Sunday with episode … Continue reading →
Holy hot cakes this is absolutely the wildest casting of 2022, and maybe of the last few years. When have I ever seen a male lead reunite with his female lead but then as the second male lead. Like, whut? K-ent is reporting that Jung Hae In will be joining the cast of K-drama Tree Dies on Their Feet, but … Continue reading →
Clearly the Lee Jun Ki drama suffering streak will continue onwards with his next drama Again My Life. The observation is that Lee Jun Ki portrays angst and suffering so beautifully onscreen that he’s ALWAYS being made to fall into pits of despair in whatever drama plot or genre he’s in. In Again My Life, he’s a prosecutor who gets … Continue reading →
I always equate the South Korean government good taxpayer awards like when the school hands out perfect attendance prizes and this year 2022’s recipient are clearly a very good boy and girl when it comes to paying their taxes. Lee Seung Gi and Jo Boa are among the around 1000 citizens noted for their good taxpaying habits, and 22 of … Continue reading →
Everyone has a different amount of appetite in a meal and I’ve decided my weekends are only able to juggle one drama. I can do more than one drama per week but for a given time slot right now I’m maxed out mentally. So that means putting Twenty Five, Twenty One on wait to binge (I was planning to start … Continue reading →
