The manhwa to drama adaptations remain hit-or-miss but a solid hit always make up for the disappoints and keeps me interesting and hopeful anytime I hear another one in the works. Yoo Seung Ho will be making a drama return later this year with the drama adaptation of manhwa Super Star Ms. Lee. It’s a fantasy revenge tale when an … Continue reading →
On the flip side of Chinese rando starlets embarrassing the country by paying or even muscling their way onto the Cannes Film Festival red carpets, the illustrious two-some of China’s top goddesses Gong Li and also Zhang Zi Yi lent the proper halo of glamour back to the proceedings. Gong Li looked elegant and made waves for announcing her marriage … Continue reading →
Some onscreen pairings giving off sparks whether due to chemistry or as created by the story line, so for upcoming MBC Wed-Thurs romance Spring Night I’m going to say that both the leads and the story will deliver a slow and steady build up. Leads Han Ji Min and Jung Hae In attended the press conference this week along with … Continue reading →
The premise is out for Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin‘s upcoming K-drama and it’s pretty head scratchy. It’s either going to be epically good or so comically bad the only reason the two are doing it is so that they can get married afterwards in real life and claim it was this drama that brought them together after earlier … Continue reading →
Oh happy news to share, married acting couple Mark Chao and Gao Yuan Yuan welcomed the arrival of their first born on this May 21st. Mark posted on his SNS account the simple statement “A beautiful day, to welcome a beautiful life. Mother and daughter are both safe and well, thank you all.” The TW-actor and his C-actress wife have … Continue reading →
I can’t believe it’s been nearly four years since Answer Me 1988, formerly tvN‘s highest rated drama until it was dethroned by Mr. Sunshine and still the highest rated Answer Me offering. Male lead Ryu Jun Yeol lost the girl to onscreen other male lead Park Bo Gum but walked home laughing but winning her in real life and now … Continue reading →
I’m so glad to have Moon Geun Young confirmed for a comeback this year with the tvN drama Catch the Ghost (Catch Yoo Ryung) and even better is her male lead is the up-and-coming Kim Sun Ho who has really climbed the drama ladder in three short years. Kim Sun Ho is currently headlining Welcome to Waikiki 2 and will … Continue reading →
Sometimes as readers and viewers we experience cringe on behalf of whatever info we’re digesting, be it an image, scene, or even article description of something that happened. The Cannes Film Festival red carpet this week provided plenty of cringe fodder for Chinese media and C-netizens when after the A-list C-stars attended from Gong Li to Liu Tao to Jing … Continue reading →
Can I just use the teaser drama poster for now, or at least until the production for tvN sageuk Arthdal Chronicles comes up with a better official drama poster than the one just released. It’s bad, like so so bad. Straight out of photoshop 101 where characters posing individually against a green screen is cropped into an array in the … Continue reading →
All that bickering from yesterday with the rumored casting of Kim Go Eun opposite Lee Min Ho for Kim Eun Sook‘s next high profile drama better pipe down now, because nothing is worse than the two fandoms of costars taking the other down. Kim Go Eun is now confirmed as the female lead for the fantasy drama The King: Eternal … Continue reading →
I think the delay for SBS to air action drama Vagabond from end of May to September is turning out to be a great idea. This month and into early July there’s a glut of dramas from Her Private Life to Different Dreams and Spring Night with of course the highly promoted Arthdal Chronicles coming. No need to squeeze into … Continue reading →
After the first wave of East Asian stars walked the Cannes Film Festival opening night red carpet, what follows are actors and actresses there for the premiere of their films on scheduled nights. This weekend saw C-actor Hu Ge walk the red carpet with his movie female leads Gwei Lun Mei and Wan Qian for the noir thriller C-movie The … Continue reading →
It’s a factor of both how many K-dramas I’ve watched and also how distinctive these guys are that even totally covered up head to toe I can recognize them. So can the public and K-media who spotted Jo In Sung, Kwang Soo, Kim Woo Bin, and D.O. coming back to Korea from a short Japan vacation. They were spotted at … Continue reading →
