This is legit the lamest yet sweetly funniest shit I’ve seen in awhile. I can’t deny that a younger and more fervently drama addicted Koala wouldn’t have participated in a like minded activity for a drama I love. Viewers of the jTBC Fri-Sat drama Sky Castle are apparently so peeved about the wholly out of place final episode 20 that … Continue reading →
It’s hard being the most famous commercial star in Japan since every project starring Kimura Takuya is scrutinized for whether it conforms with his past string of successes or a sign that his star is waning with a less than stellar reception. KimuTaku’s dramas nearly double his movie projects his his most recently released detective movie Masquerade Hotel has turned … Continue reading →
The boys are starting to come home! K-ent is reporting that actor Joo Won will be discharged from the military on February 5th, successfully completing his mandatory service. Joo Won was part of the leading men enlistment contingent that left for service in 2017, and during their service period had a chance to perform together whether for military shows and/or … Continue reading →
There’s interesting drama casting news to end the week and hopefully another project to look forward to. Eric and Go Jun Hee are in talks for the June 2019 KBS romance drama titled Perfume. If Eric accepts it will be his first drama in three years since the hit Another Oh Hae Young and also his first since his marriage … Continue reading →
The general consensus with the final episode 20 of jTBC Fri-Sat surprise hit drama Sky Castle was that the viewers will all remember the drama being episodes 1-19. That means episode 20 was such a letdown on what was otherwise a gripping drama that riveted a nation’s attention with each episode increasing in ratings without any slippage. The final episode … Continue reading →
The huge migration home has started for Lunar New Year 2019 and this weekend leading up to the actual New Year Day on Tuesday February 5th will be filled with lots of travel, downtime, and cleaning for most Asian families. The production team of pre-filmed action drama Vagabond released a treat today to celebrate lunar new year, a new filming … Continue reading →
K-actress Song Hye Kyo has always exuded this grounded vibe even as she’s soared to the top of K-ent actresses of her generation in the twenty-plus years she’s been acting. Perhaps that’s why her character in Encounter (Boyfriend) felt like a morphed version of herself – thoughtful and capable, but also immensely sad, lonely, and constrained. It’s the most fleshed … Continue reading →
Cable network jTBC Mon-Tues rom-com Clean With Passion for Now is ending next week on February 4th right on lunar new year and all it’s done is inspire me to clean (good) without an inspiration to keeping watching the drama (bad). I watched up to episode 8 and then just paused due to inertia rather than proactive refusal to continue … Continue reading →
I’m a little late with the post on the recent passing of Singaporean actor Aloysius Pang but I’m not familiar with him and it’s hard to write such a heavy story to start off the new year. Child actor turned young leading man Aloysius Pang was off on a three week mandatory training with the Singapore military in New Zealand … Continue reading →
My eyes my eyes, I’ve been temporarily blinded! How else to explain the momentary visual pang upon laying eyes on Gong Yoo at this week’s Body Shop event in Seoul. He was wearing a yellow shirt jacket that is a shade of yellow that honestly I couldn’t even find to buy if I tried. ITS SO BRIGHT AND SO YELLOW … Continue reading →
Last year 2018 felt like a drama resurgence year for me, there were a lot of well-made K-dramas as well as lesser written but still fun to watch fare. The success was spread out even if overall the prime time big three channel ratings remain low, but a standout who had two critically acclaimed dramas on the two different big … Continue reading →
Methinks someone in the Chinese broadcast authority has too much time on their hands. Hot on the news that court and palace themed C-dramas like the mega hit Story of Yanxi Palace were on the outs for promoting bad values of extravagance and plotting, the Chinese authorities are also cracking down on the use of entertainment kids to make money. … Continue reading →
With all the viewer feedback and opinions on recently wrapped tvN sci-fi drama Memories of Alhambra, male lead Hyun Bin reportedly said it was the longest drama he’s ever filmed and the most grueling. That likely means the cast and crew formed a tight bond during filming especially the skeleton crew that lived in Spain for nearly two months for … Continue reading →
