The best part of being ahead of the curve is getting done with something before all your peers. I’ve always been a go-getter and it’s great to see born in 1987 Lee Seung Gi do his mandatory military service earlier thann many of his born the same year entertainment industry colleagues. Notable ’87ers enlisting now or later this year include … Continue reading →
An election themed dance off on the beautiful balmly spring streets of Seoul is a creative intro for upcoming SBS Wed-Thurs drama Suspicious Partner. I’m sufficiently entertained by how earnest and into it the entire cast gamely participates in this goofy bit, wringing comedy by committing to the silly. The drama arrives in two weeks after Saimdang: Light’s Diary finally … Continue reading →
The April edition of Marie Claire Korea features the first major Korean fashion magazine pictorial of actress Yoon Eun Hye in quite some time. It didn’t disappoint in the first released pictures and continues to satisfy in the recently made available additional shots. This wasn’t a location shoot with the focus being solely on the model and her outfits and … Continue reading →
I can’t help but simultaneously chuckle and cringe at the massive cover tagline for Yoona‘s May Grazia Magazine pictorial. The all caps “I am single and happy” is fine and dandy as the refrain for the empowered single lady as beautiful and successful as the singer-actress, but knowing that she dated Lee Seung Gi for over a year and it … Continue reading →
The career of So Ji Sub hit the 20th anniversary milestone this year, and in many ways he’s remained a man who prefers his own beat than one clamoring for a piece of the Hallyu pie. His arguably buzziest drama was The Master’s Sun with Gong Hyo Jin, but he really rocketed to the top actor tier a decade earlier … Continue reading →
This drama totally slipped my mind as coming up soon so it’s nice to see the first drama still and be reminded of something that still interests me. KBS is languishing in last place in its Mon-Tues slot for three dramas running, after the hit Moonlight Drawn by Clouds the network hasn’t brought in viewers with The Man Living at … Continue reading →
Glorious doesn’t even begin to describe the newly shared pregnancy pictures of Taiwanese actress and producer Ruby Lin. She welcomed a baby girl in the start of the year with actor husband Wallace Huo but the two kept a low profile during her pregnancy and there were few pictures even sharing a glimpse of her growing stomach. She’s one of … Continue reading →
Meet cutes remain a tried and true staple of K-dramas, not necessarily building towards a successful OTP but if done right continues to deliver the first satisfying rush in the romantic set up in any K-drama. The first meeting of the star-crossed OTP in upcoming MBC sageuk Ruler: Master of the Mask shows Kim So Hyun and Yoo Seung Ho … Continue reading →
This is two sets of unconfirmed drama news but still a likelihood to happen so I’m cautiously optimistic. MBC is discussing the scheduling of the drama to follow Ruler: Master of the Mask which will run from May through July, so the followup drama will need to be ready to air come middle of summer in July. It’s still unconfirmed … Continue reading →
The countdown has begun in earnest for the K-drama remake of hit movie My Sassy Girl, taking over for the SBS Mon-Tues time slot from currently airing thriller Whisper which just hit midway airing with this week’s episode 8. Male lead Joo Won is headed for military service next month so this drama will serve as his final project so hopefully … Continue reading →
If I’m going to pre-judge a K-drama OTP based solely on first stills then Ji Chang Wook and Nam Ji Hyun have just won my heart. Their new drama Suspicious Partner doesn’t arrive until the first week of May, airing on SBS Wed-Thur time slot following Saimdang: Light’s Diary so this is the perfect time to slowly ramp up promos … Continue reading →
There is now less than one month to go before saying farewell to oppa for the next two years. Lee Min Ho‘s agency has just confirmed that the actor is enlisting for mandatory military service on May 12th, days before Joo Won recently announced his enlistment day. The ’87ers are all heading off in batches, last month with Seo In … Continue reading →
It’s a rite of passage for top young actresses to cut their hair really short for a drama role, and it usually works more than it doesn’t. Yoon Eun Hye for Coffee Prince, Park Shin Hye in You’re Beautiful, Moon Chae Won’s cut in Goodbye Mr. Black, the list goes on and now Suzy joins in her first ever short … Continue reading →
