This will come as great news to So Ji Sub fans, whether long-standing or newer ones after his fantastic turn in The Master’s Sun, thinking he is likely not doing any acting this year since all the remaining year end K-dramas have been cast. Surprising news dropped today that So Ji Sub has been in Jeju Island for the last … Continue reading →
It’s finale week for Heirs/The Inheritors and the production released a batch of happy, playful, and very pretty BTS pictures of the main cast playing the high school students. I have so many jumbled thoughts might as well discuss my thoughts on the performances while sharing the lovely pics as a tribute to the hardworking cast who toiled to bring … Continue reading →
You know that existential crisis moment when you’re reading a book and land on a sentence and find yourself reading it over and over again because suddenly words don’t compute? That is usually a signal to put that book down and take a break because the synapses are momentarily overloaded. I worried that moment was barreling towards me with respect … Continue reading →
The release of the third preview teaser for Heirs or The Inheritors helps us take a break from the overload of character stills from the drama. This is the most substantive teaser to date and really showcases what to expect. The possibility that Heirs would be a hot mess was bandied about mostly because of how derivative the set up … Continue reading →
In the spectrum of good, better, best, the second teaser for Heirs or The Inheritors lands squarely in good. It’s better than the first one, but that one didn’t even make it to a decent and interesting level. This one has talking and every one of the leads makes a twirl (except for Im Joo Eun, who I decree simply … Continue reading →
“It’s okay, baby!” Those are the first words we hear from Lee Min Ho’s lips in his turn as the exiled high school rich boy in Heirs or The Inheritors (Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs). The drama released the first ever video teaser since it’s three weeks away from its premiere, despite it feeling like … Continue reading →
I worry that covering the high profile Heirs or The Inheritors is going to be cause for my blood pressure going up, what with everyone having an opinion about the leads, the chemistry (or lack thereof), the concept, you name it, someone has strong feelings about it. Unless you are living under a nice cozy rock for the last 6 … Continue reading →
Today’s Heirs or The Inheritors official still of the day comes courtesy of second female lead Kim Ji Won. She is probably the least buzzy member of the cast, what with not being from an idol group and also not having anything close to the fan base the two leads enjoy. I like her well enough, she looks like Kim … Continue reading →
The official script reading pictures of the full cast of Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs (also known as Heritors) is out. It happened last month on August 5th, but SBS smartly withheld it just to keep that aura of mystery and excitement for a bit longer. Since then, the cast has successively jumped into the … Continue reading →
As the train keeps on chugging along for Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs, including getting a clunky English title of Heritors, the huge cast is basically trickling into filming one by one. I’m sure the media will be parked at Incheon airport on September 3rd when the main leads head to LA for filming, and … Continue reading →
Sometimes I wonder if the upcoming high-profile drama Those Who Wear the Crown, Withstand the Weight: The Heirs (aka Heirs) is an elaborate joke. At some point someone is going to jump out and yell “Sucker!!!” for all those months spent discussing, debating, and dissecting a drama that reads like a cross between Gossip Girl and Boys Before Flowers starring … Continue reading →
It’s looking more and more like my gut instinct about To the Beautiful You is right. Sulli and Min Ho are likely the closest live-action actors to their manga counterparts in Hana Kimi. She looks feminine but has the masculine swagger and attitude down right, and Min Ho is aloof without coming across as half asleep or robotic. Of course … Continue reading →
Ah To the Beautiful You, still looking cute there! We’re a week out from the scrum next Wednesday when Beautiful You premieres along with Arang and the Magistrate. To say the two dramas are as different from each other as night and day is an understatement, plus Gakistal is still around since it got an extension, which makes the ratings … Continue reading →
