Confirmation is in order for the next reunion drama of screenwriter Park Hye Ryun and her male lead muse Lee Jong Seok. He’s confirmed for While You Were Sleeping, and his leading lady is also confirmed to be Suzy. On top of that, SBS has for sure picked up the drama for it’s early 2017 prime time slot, and directing … Continue reading →
Lotte Duty Free is packaging a seven-for-one deal in terms of Hallyu stars and I find myself impressed with their ingenuity and willingness to go big. The poster is out for the brand’s tie-in web drama called First Kiss for the 7th Time, formerly First Kiss for the 6th Time but now one more K-actor has been added to the … Continue reading →
Color me not surprised with the casting for screenwriter Park Hye Ryun‘s upcoming fantasy K-drama set for early 2017. Hallyu actor Lee Jong Seok and idol-actress Suzy have been offered the leads for While You Were Sleeping and both are positively considering it. Lee Jong Seok has worked with Park Hye Ryun twice already, headlining her dramas Pinoccho and I … Continue reading →
Korean duty free store Lotte is cooking up a treat for all the Hallyu fans – the brand will use all it’s endorsement stars in a web drama called First Kiss For the Sixth Time. There are tons of Hallyu stars endorsing Lotte Duty Free and this web drama will have six male stars playing six eligible bachelors for one lucky … Continue reading →
The dichotomy of W: Two Worlds wasn’t just in the parallel universes within the narrative scope, one real and the other manhwa, it’s also in how I feel about it. I loved the parts that worked and was infuriated with the flaws that faltered, and neither the twain shall meet. It was love and hate in equal measure so it’s … Continue reading →
There are a handful of famous name screenwriters, and two are coming out with high profile K-dramas in winter of 2016 in Kim Eun Sook‘s Goblin on tvN and Park Ji Eun‘s Legend of the Blue Sea airing on SBS. I quite enjoy both but its Park Hye Ryun who I have a deeper connection with thanks to Pinocchio and … Continue reading →
The reunification of my cuties Park Shin Hye and Lee Jong Seok feels like a glass half something situation. On one hand they are going to be in the same drama and also back on television, but on the other hand they are merely making a cameo in said drama and not even in the same scene. Yay to the … Continue reading →
I gotta give polling site Moolmong credit for even coming up with this particular poll topic, but then again it’s probably run out of more mainstream subjects to inquire about. Korean ladies were polled on which K-star elicited their most motherly instincts, which seems anathema that viewers would want to mother the hotties in question rather than dream of them … Continue reading →
This is too blatant and ballsy in an adorable way not to promote and share. The ladies of Korean ballad duo Davichi are releasing their sixth EP this month and found super popular K-actor Lee Jong Seok to be their leading man in the MV for their second single “From Giving Love to Receiving Love”. Beyond saying “I approve!”, I am … Continue reading →
This might be the case of a celebrity version of the Amazon Fire Phone, i.e. no one wants it, or it might be sourced and priced to sell just enough to make it worth the while. C-news is reporting that popular Hallyu actor Lee Jong Seok will be collaborating with a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer to release his own branded … Continue reading →
When I view recently ended MBC drama W: Two Worlds from the lens of the entire drama, it strikes me as even more impressive with it’s conceptual reach because the drama really hooks all three different taste audiences with Korea, China, and Japan. The fresh story line keeps the domestic audiences engaged, the sleek upscale production makes Chinese audiences entertained, … Continue reading →
It’s a job well done for Lee Jong Seok as he finished his K-drama W: Two Worlds and celebrated his 27th birthday on the same day. He actually turned 28 in Korean age on his birthday of September 14th, which also makes it a year closer to when he’ll need to check in for military service. There are still the … Continue reading →
I’m glad I watched MBC‘s Wed-Thurs world hopping drama W: Two Worlds all the way to the end, even if starting midway through it made increasingly little conceptual sense even within the context of a fantasy drama. Maybe the world building aspects in the beginning weren’t as solid as it appeared, or maybe the screenwriter got through the first big conflict … Continue reading →
