There are weird casting choices and this one is weird from both the leads itself and within the context of this being a sequel to a first season. Tencent is releasing xianxia C-drama The Land of Warriors with Zhou Yi Ran and Zhang Yu Xi on November 25th taking over for Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. Land of Warriors is the sequel to the C-drama Duoluo Continent starring Xiao Zhan and Wu Xuan Yi and the story continues from where that ended. So Zhou Yi Ran and Zhang Yu Xi are playing the same roles as Xiao Zhan and Yu Xuan Yi and I’m like wut? He’s aged down and she’s aged up from the first season and neither have anything resembling the vibes of the original leads. I wished they made this a different story in which case not to mention Zhou Yi Ran is a super young and Zhang Yu Xi is nearly ten years older and also she just gives off mature woman vibes to begin with. Weird all around.
