Written Preview for Episode 7 of Lie to Me

Lie to Me is evil. It’s a borderline-crappy drama that has managed to suck me in because my Koala sense is tingling all over with respect to the Kang Ji HwanYoon Eun Hye OTP. Last time this happened was with respect to the Geun-Geuns. Suddenly I’m watching BTS videos (OMG they are so cute together) and giggling as I rewatch them sing a stupid song about ice-cream. Seriously, the song is about ice-cream!?!

Thank god the written preview for episode 7 was released to naysay the few doubting Mcdoutersons who claim the kiss at the end of episode 6 is a fantasy sequence. Who cares if there is no emotional buildup, I’ll take the relationship backwards and let the kiss open the floodgates of love. Bring it on, I can’t wait for episode 7. Oh Monday, please come RIGHT NOW.

Written preview for episode 7:

Ki Joon and Ah Jung kiss. Afterwards, they stare at each other deeply, unable to break their mutual gaze. The rest of the party looks at Ki Joon and Ah Jung off in their own little world. Suddenly everyone is shocked by the sound of the doorbell ringing. Like a person caught doing a bad thing, Ah Jung runs towards the door, unable to face Ki Joon. She’s shocked to see a certain person….

On the other hand, Sang Hee is looking through their elementary school year books with Yoon Joo. In the pictures, little Sang Hee and little Yoon Joo adorably stare at each other. A smile naturally comes to Sang Hee, which is when Yoon Joo arrives bearing a tray of tea,. When she sees his smile, her heart……

My Thoughts:

Because LTM is such a flimsy drama with very little written depth, as provided by a very green screenwriter, it actually makes it more interesting for me to write about it. Because Ji Hwan and Eun Hye is taking their characters and running with it, logic and narrative be-damned, I’m game to try and analyze the drama – extrapolate, if you will.

I think the writer failed to drop a few more hints that Ki Joon was interested in Ah Jung, hints that would have worked in episodes 4 and 5, making the cherry blossom almost-kiss and the karaoke kiss work fluidly. I’m not surprised he’s attracted to her (despite not seeing it), because she completely catches him off guard. She’s not subservient to him, and she intrigues him. Ooooh, it’s going to be so awesome to see how awkward they are with each other after the kiss.

Written Preview for Episode 7 of Lie to Me — 42 Comments

  1. I admit it doesn’t take a deep awesome plot to attract me to a rom/com. All it takes to draw me in is chemistry/romance/humor. For intricate plots, i can go read my thrillers. I liked this drama from the start, maybe because of his mean macho gazes, or her too cute antics, anyhow, I’m enjoying it.

    • I totally agree! You couldn’t have said it any better. . Why over think every episode when we can just sit back and enjoy it. Isn’t it the purpose of watching shows? To lose ourselves in it so we forget to think of serious things and escape into another – albeit sillier world? Come on people – let’s all chill and wait for the fireworks to light up. Or are we pretending to be “quack critics”- know it all viewers?

    • LTM is a light rom/com drama… it is one enjoyable drama to watch considering it has Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji-hwan on board. I do critic the films I watch, but this time, I choose not so much to critic LTM.. I just want to enjoy it! 🙂

    • I agree….this drama is very enjoyable…light rom com…not complicated n entertaining….maybe the casts are BIG in the Kdramaland..so everyone making so hard analayze to the story n the actors n making they not enjoy the drama…

    • Me too! I was wondering what Ah Jung and Sang Hee were discussing at the preview. First time Sang Hee seemed cold to Ah Jung.

      • i’m curious about that too….i love this drama and we all knew that Ki Joon and Sang Hee fought over a women before….

  2. I like Ki Joon because he behaves like a normal guy : when a man sees a beautiful woman … he thinks with the pants and after that they use their brains … no matter how smart the guy is and Ki Joon is a bit vulnerable to her charms : his former fiancee is in town and the manager even she is really beautiful … rarely catches him off guard like Ah Jung does

even I love to bits the build up of a relationship (see Can U hear my heart ) in this drama I feel like in Sex and the city : 2 normal ppl f*** and after that talk about it ….errrmmm here is just 2 ppl kiss and after that see the aftermath

the aunt(at the door ) needs Ah Jung to get rid of the ex but I doubt she agrees to Ah Jung to be the hotel’s image aka Ki Joon’s wife- no matter how much she wants to see her nephew married with children .Why? coz Ah jung doesn’t have the money or she ain’t linked that much to high society! 3rd reason?Ah Jung’s office fashion?it isn’t there at all …she is more an anti-image while the ex was everything you could think about a hotel boss: marketing oriented (at least design), if I got it right she has enough money, foreign experience and well behaved(for sure she ain’t Sang Hee or Ah Jung)

I observed that sometimes a previous scene happens at night and the next one during the day… or reverse : it is a bit sloppy planned and the PD is guilty for it

this drama ain’t engaging but I love to watch it … and I love it more than M3 coz doesn’t have annoying chars ( I love So Ran : she is as bad as she can be but she ain’t annoying – she is just fit for Ah Jung I can see why they are still best friends – Ah Jung is as flawed as she is but a bit luckier – she didn’t married the bastard )

    • @Leona: good observations. good review. i have yet to see the entirety of the story, rather than judge it episode by episode. the build-up of KJH’s and YEH’s relationship is taking a slow-pace but getting-there-soon – to the viewer’s delight – considering the stature of Ki Joon. yet, took us by surprise in episode 6 when Ki Joon was starstruck by Ah Jeong’s charm and wit. that was cute!

  3. Okay so I finally caught up in watching the drama &seriously can NOT wait for Monday. After reading all the recaps &comments on the other episodes I was thinking “OMG this is so gonna be MSOAN pt.2 but with stars that I love more” which I would cry out of disappointment &horrible use of such talented actors/actresses for a crappy drama but in all actuality it really isn’t. Lie To Me does have a pretty crappy storyline &you just want Ah Jung to just ignore So Ran but like I said after watching it. I see Ah Jung as finally getting her revenge on her bully.
So Ran is a bully to Ah Jung, emotionally that is &Ah Jung is finally saying that’s enough &she’s taking her stand against her bully by telling a white lie. Even though it’s wrong you can’t help but cheer for her because you wanna see the victim finally win over the bully. So in some ways i’m interested in that.
I really like LTM &I just have high hopes that it’ll not become a MSOAN. Can’t wait for Monday to watch ep.7 the awkwardness after the kiss….lol

    • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh V ahhh I’m soooo missing you , where have u been all this while , are u’r studies ok
and thanks for the news , cola kiss , really curious to know the circumstances which I wish it has nothing to do with the SG’s foam kiss

      • @rainyrain

It’s not the same “v” as from the Playful Kiss days. It’s a different person commenting.

  4. They just had lots of interviews and they revealed that there will be another kiss scene very soon!!!!

Kang Ji Hwan said that the writer must like kissing scenes a lot and he used up a whole bottle of mouthwash before he kissed Yoon Eun Hye…

  5. Maybe the writer could grace us with a flashback scene that we didn’t see; perhaps a nice conversation our coffee-couple had where we could understand how/why they are falling for each other. Maybe they’d say how lonely they’ve both been, and can’t find someone that understands them, etc…!

  6. undoubtedly, lie to me is incomparable to best love. but between these two, i’m much more engrossed with lie to me no matter how crappy the plot is (is there really one?) lol so monday, please come…. now na!!!!

  7. I read somewhere that someone is basically doing what I’ve been doing all along- re-watching from episode 1 to the current episode to provide emotional continuity or what is being referred to as “the build up”. Oh, can I offer a tip? – – watch the episodes first before you read any re-cap so your appreciation of the scenes is based on your own biases and just compare later with others.

  8. OMG – Ms. Ockoala – I’m gone just one day for the holiday weekend outlet shopping and I come home to A TON of Lie to Me posts!!! Yay!!! Thank you so much for indulging me and letting me following along with your love for our OTP – cause me too – love them!!! I watched eps 4-6 over & over again since Monday & Tues night… and the preview to ep 7… that I barely could get into BL, as awesome as everything is about that drama. How could I tear myself away from the cuteness that is AJ-KJ?

I absolutely agree that the writer should have dropped more subtle hints that KJ was attracted to AJ. From rewatching the earlier episodes, I think the times when KJ keeps commenting how he’s just following all of her orders (when she calls him out etc)… and the fact that he was totally disappointed that she called him to add another clause into the contract and not about what transpired the night before (almost kiss).

I can’t wait until Monday. I must admit this pair has even surpassed my love for the OTP DTLY pair (yikes!!! I wasn’t expecting that, esp from a drama with a crappy storyline). YEH and KJH are just way too cute & funny.

    • Opps – too eager… to 2nd off my point the 2nd paragraph… those really minor moments when one could feel that KJ was falling for AJ – but they are just really minor. There should have been more hints!

  9. I agree. There are moments you could see that Ki Joon was falling for Ah Jung.. but those are very few. It would have been amazing if the transition was from ep4 onwards.. some poignant moments here and there… subtle was going to be alright but we needed more.. anywho, after ep6 I am beginning to think, random is alright as well.

The thing is: I actually like the story premise (cliche is not a problem), and the main leads.. so I can survive with this illogical narrative jump which many will not be happy with.

    • LOOL I downloaded the original song and listnening to again and again and even made it my phoneringtone , it’s toooo cute but still waiting for YEH-KJH’s version which surely will be CUUUTER

  10. I love love the singing scene.. somebody tell me what is that ice cream song about? Translation please… I dont care if it is a stupid song.. hehe.

  11. i do not “overthink” my kdramas i leave that to the bloggers hehehe
i am just here to enjoy whatever i can in every episode
if i am going to analyze every single flaw in the writing, acting and directing then i will be left with very few dramas to enjoy and unfortunately not all of them include my favorite actors…mehh

however, i do love to read about korean bloggers fascinating thoughts about them and koala, thanks for sharing them 🙂

    lie to me is entertaining…

i never get tired of looking at YEH’s face on the screen and KJH…you never fail to make me smile and swoon

by the way love reading your recaps and comments. thanks!

  12. haha so it was not just me thinking things are flowing a little odd in this drama:D

well actually i had already surprised by the almost-kiss scene like it was out of nowhere but understandable up to a point, i mean the ambiance in the park etc. :)))

but this last kiss in the ep 6 was thoroughly unexpected for me, like when did he attracted to her so much that just thinking a little bit of flashback makes him to kiss her 🙂 well i am happy to watch some kiss scenes earlier than usual but the plot seems to missing some things that it was too obvious. hope they make it more proper in the next episodes 😀 and anticipating the cola kiss *_*
