This is like someone mixing two of my favorites ingredients together to make a super delicious new snack. Song Joong Ki and Im Joo Hwan, good friends since they did A Frozen Flower together (starring Jo In Sung and Joo Jin Mo), have been hanging around a lot lately. A few weeks ago they visited the set of That Winter, The Wind Blows to cheer on their hyung Jo In Sung’s return to dramas. Or maybe to check out the very pretty Song Hye Kyo. Heh. Last week saw this bromance move to the next stage – attending movie premieres together. Other notable bromances such as Jung Woo Sung and Lee Jung Jae or Song Seong Heon and So Ji Sub are always doing the movie circuit together. The premiere was for the horror movie Stoker, a Hollywood flick that is directed by famous Korean director Park Chan Wook (famous for Joint Security Area and the Vengeance Trilogy most notably Old Boy). Not sure either Song Joong Ki or Im Joo Hwan have worked with Park Chan Wook before (I don’t think so), but anytime one of Korea’s finest directors breaks into Hollywood it’s a cause to support his work. Song Joong Ki looks so boyish with the cap, rosy cheeks, and casual coat, while Im Joo Hwan is much too stiff with the austere grey overcoat and the too-serious expression. Another reason these two have been hanging out is that Im Joo Hwan joined Song Joong Ki’s agency immediately after he finished his military service, so that actually increases the odds they might work together again in another project. I didn’t mention them in the earlier post, but I do think either would also be prime candidates to join Moon Geun Young in the sageuk Goddess of Fire Jeongi, but it’s really up to the dramagods to align all the stars and make it happen. Until then, it’s nice to see my adorable guys enjoying time off hanging out.
