Kyaaaaaa, now that’s what I call an eye-popping teaser that sells the OTP and plenty of playful cheer. The first official drama poster is out for It’s Okay, It’s Love, and I hope to god someone at SBS did their due diligence and this concept hasn’t been copied from another original source. The two leads of IOIL are shown cuddling up naked in a bathtub covered by a silken red sheet. It’s less sultry and more sexy sweet, almost like a cheeky adult vibe that never crosses the Korean prime time viewer line for overly raunchy. I love it! Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin still look more friends than lovers in the poster, but it’s less platonic BFF than in the teaser. Here they look like friends with benefits which might actually be how their characters get together. LOL, I don’t know but am merely speculating.
I really adore this full cast which includes Song Dong Il, Kwang Soo, Yang Ik Joon, Yoon Jin Yi, and Jin Kyung. The newbie pretty boy D.O. from the boy band EXO is a major unknown but I have to admit he looks the part of a high school boy. The official character stills are less dour than the recent batch from darker dramas but nothing that pops like the poster does. I like Gong Hyo Jin’s comic book dialogue bubble dress, yet another sign that her character seems quirky and perhaps reflecting her real life style. Other than that, if the first poster wasn’t so winning I’d be marking off a series of mehs on the IOIL promotional train so far. Luckily a Noh Hee Kyung drama isn’t predicated on winning teaser material and instead requires a slow deep dive into a pool of thoughtful dramatic contemplation.
