Oh this is totally a plot line straight out of Record of Youth. When Park Bo Gum‘s character was just an struggling supporting actor, he managed to turn a small side role into scene-stealing from the leads due to his acting ability which then propelled him on the track to stardom with that big break. jTBC drama Nevertheless has the industry watching thanks to casting two buzzy young leads Song Kang and Han So Hee, who are also cast in a bunch of other dramas and movies, so whether they can bring in ratings and good reviews does matter for other projects that have cast them. The early feedback is mixed, with majority criticism of Song Kang’s acting (just not good), some criticism of Han So Hee (not as good as people remembered from The World of the Married), and now news articles saying that supporting actress and relative newbie Yang Hye Ji has gotten the best reviews with unanimous audience compliment of her acting fitting the role and bringing the character to life. I guess that’s the never ending cycle, with each new drama there is always a chance for a newer face to breakout.
