K-Bu Bu Jing Xin Showcases Ji Soo as 14th Prince and Kang Hana as a Goryeo Princess

It’s a two-fer this week with two new looks at the sprawling cast of Korean adaptation of Bu Bu Jing Xin (Startling with each Step). I loved seeing Nam Joo Hyuk in character as the renaissance Prince 13th, with good hair and a refined demeanor. Now comes Ji Soo playing the brash young 14th Prince, the role that launched C-actor Lin Geng Xin‘s career in the C-version of BBJX. It’s not a meaty role until the second half of the drama but making a huge memorable impression in the end is oftentimes more impactful than starting strong and petering out. Ji Soo totally looks like a Goryeo era punk in his costume, which actually fits 14th’s profile. I’m wondering how his chemistry will be with IU, it’s not a strong love line on his part but the childhood growing up together bit was precious to me.

Also showing her face in character is rising actress Kang Hana, who will be playing a Goryeo princess so she doesn’t have a love line with any of the princes but will play a material role in the battle for the crown and for protecting her nation. It’s clear from her costume that the colors are going to be pleasantly vibrant and contrasting.

  1. The original 14th isn’t a punk though, but i will attribute this to one of the slight changes made for the k-version, as long as they don’t completely change the character. And Kang Hana looks pretty, i wonder what her hairstyle will be like 😀

  2. The growing up bit is an important part to me as well. That’s what I’m mostly worried about in this remake drama Bu Bu Jing Xin. I hope they can pull it off like the original, especially IUs part. But overall I’m excited to see how it will go, a big fan of Bu Bu Jing Xin!

  3. Off topic a bit. Koala, I have a request. Would you please post more news to show other sides of Lee Jun Ki so that his image in historical dramas won’t always get stuck in viewers’ stubborn heads. I accidentally stumbled onto this clip of LJK and was mind blown. LOL…He totally owns the genes to be a Kpop idol.
